definitely against it... While I don't think the Knicks need to draft a completely NBA ready player, I'd like for them to grab a player who can at least contribute in one way immediately and develop the rest. Knicks need some help now, and hopefully they will be legit contenders in two season's time

All the same a coach is responsible for getting the most out of a player. WHen a Darko or Hill or Randolph performs better after leaving the coach isn't blameless. As far as if you practice hard, mda will give you burn that's not true. MOz was constantly getting praise for how hard he worked but it took injury to get him into the lineup. If we don't get a defensive assistant then you don't draft this guy. You draft a CHanning Frye type player who can drain the 3, because otherwise he won't be getting burn, won't be getting coaching or communication with the coach and just rot on the pine.

Exactly.

Don't a lot of playoff teams do just the same? Young guys who are mid rounders who are not either fully developed physically or who entered draft early in terms of development sit a lot unless on a lottery team.

Development of players take on a lot of different paths. So play immediately, some don't play until they are ready.

Panos, BigSm00th, did you think AR deserved playing time after his disastrous showing early in the year? What did you think of reports from beat staff that he didn't practice very hard? Is that not an indicator to you about maturity level of player?

I can see him being in the dog house. MDA losing patience, him admitting to bad work habits, sulking, Getting another chance, blowing it, in two years we are discussing that we should have been more patient.

Or......

This kid gets picked by another team to disappear into obscurity.

His age may be as high as 26 years old. Nobody knows!

Lets be real guys: AR was a project. AR might have been a multi year project. We got him cheap.

What Happend? MDA had to make the playoffs this year. No phucking around! He raised the value of Fields, Moz and got Gallo to a very desirable place which takes minutes.

AR had only 50 games and WAS TRADED!

Maybe in time he could have played better and his value increased but as indirect as it was he was part of the Melo deal.
