I think this is because of the nets-knicks rivalry before?

el kmart is the type of guy who you hate as an opponent but you will appriciate as a teammate" I strongly believe that

Martin is pretty busted up. He is the only guy in the league to play after having microfracture surgery on both of his knees. Relying on him and Turiaf to anchor the center spot would not be good in my opinion.

martin would add MUCH NEEDED toughness and defensive-minded play. however as crush said, last 3 years -- 66 games, 55 games, 48 games. doubt he can be relied on for a whole season.

that being said, if he were willing to sign for the LLE, i would have to weigh him against the other guys willing at that price and may sign him. MLE no way but if he signs cheap i'd definitely consider it. we don't get pushed around in the C's series like we did if kmart was on our squad.

He wont be the most durable player, but as long as we have the depth to keep his minutes down, he is a great fit for this team. Having him and Turiaf plus a developing Jerome Jordan hopefully gives us the post defensive depth we need.

I see him playing At most 30 minutes a night we finally have the depth in the center position if we sign him

Who cares if its an ex-Net. Martin is a great fit to anchor our defense.

The problem isn't that he is'fugazy' its that he has significant injury issues that are not going to get better. Turiaf and Martin anchoring the defense is banking on two guys that miss a lot of games.

As long as we have the depth to sustain any injuries and have these guys healthy for the playoffs, i can deal with them missing 15-20 games per year.

i agree with this. Its not like we are banking on K-mart to save our defense and play 36 plus minutes a game all im asking for is 25 minutes from him
