Gerald Wallace(collapsed his lung went to the hospital)
Micheal Beasley(Bruised his sternum)
JJ Barrea(Bruised his ribs)

He took each player out using his elbow as a weapon while they were airborn

Seriously why hasn't the league sent a strong message to him. He deserves a 10gm suspension minimum, starting next season for being a repeat offender. He's awful really awful

come on dude anyone wishes we had him.

Not really. Some may.... but not anyone as in everyone. He's garbage and there's no place for this kind of play.

Did u watch the Knicks in the 90's?

Sorry no comparison. Yeah there may have been some fouls where arms come down hard or grabs/whiplash but no head on collision using your body as a weapon repeatedly. I know it's tough on you but a spade is a spade in this case

lol I remember once John Starks tackling Scottie Pippen in mid air--all of the guys back then gave hard stuff that at times was very cheap. You either didnt see dont remember or choose to forget.

I agree Briggs it's always been there. The 'hard' fouls in the paint. Literally physical retaliation because the skill level was unequal. And this sort of play one way to equalize. As long as it is tolerated it will happen. That last series against NO and Chris Paul some mentioned the Laker's getting more physical with him. Intimidation is a part of the game. But this crap should be stopped before someone is killed.

Were I Stern...Bynum would not play basketball until December and if it happens again he would be barred from the league. It's one thing to accidentally hurt a player making a play on the ball. It's totally another to deliberately put your elbow into his rib cage and knock him to the floor.

This kind of occurrence doesn't make basketball better game. If that elbow hits a bit higher the guy has a possibility of a crushed trachea and an emergency tracheotomy on the floor live and in living color.

i don't agree. sure, physical play has been there, but this was not physical play. it was reaction and frustration in the least mature way.

check my last post. this was imho amongst the worst fouls i've ever seen, and that's coming from a very empathetic person. if a knick did the same thing my statement would be the same. sure, you can be upset, and frustrated, but that wasn't even close to being a basketball move, nor after play stopped and players are "fighting"...it was in game....the knicks of the 90s didn't even do that...

Apparently it isn't sinking in for Briggs about repeat offender. No one is discussing the nature of hard fouls but more so nature of hard fouls from the same basketball player that has already sent one player to the ER. Also keep in mind Bynum is 7ft near 300lbs far cry from a 6'3" 200lbs grocery bag carrier

I said 10 minimum. If you can get suspended 10gms for using light PEDs then you can get 10gms for chucking elbows at vulnerable player's ribs/heart/lung.

Who does Bynum think he is? Let that be someone like Derrick Rose or Blake Griffin coming down the lane and he do that

i don't see how this is a "hard playoff foul" briggs. this was a cheapshot down by 30 points in garbage time. not only that, but its the 3rd time he's done it to a completely defenseless player.

he should get suspended.

i don't know who is going to trade with the lakers. all of their guys are old and overpaid.

Yea, I agree.. down 30, last game of the season for him, he committs that dirty foul and then heads straight for the tunnel taking his shirt off.. He knew what he was doing and is basically daring the NBA to suspend him.. I would do 10 games as well..

I just want to know what was going on in the guys head that made him do something like that. This didn't even look like an overemotional thing, like when Roger Clemens f'ed with Mike Piazza, back in 2000. If he saw the look on Bynums face throughout that entire phase, it was expressionless... it almost seemed like he flat just planned to do that play and he didn't care what the results would be. Very malicious.

As talented as he is, and as physically gifted he is, I don't think I'd take a shot at that guy now. I wouldn't even compare him to Sprewell, b/c he was dumb and reacted out of emotions. Bynum seems like someone completely different. Something isn't right in his head.

Trying to get a bench clearing fight and derail the Mavs.

Thought many of you wanted that "Bring on Oak" kind of thing?

I don't. There were some tough maybe dirty players that I've rooted for (Oakley) but that's just bush - they're down 32 points - that's not about winning. He should be suspended.

Yes watched the Knicks in the 90s, never saw them take out a player like that - in a game that was already lost. Actually, I don't think I've ever saw just take a step and drive an elbow into a guys ribs when he was driving to the hoop. Bring their arms down with force and bring a guy to the ground yep ( but not down by 32 points), but just drive an elbow into a guys ribs - nope don't think I've seen that.

That was a pretty rough foul. It's one thing for a little guy to foul hard but watching the replay doesn't do justice to what that could have been. Seriously, I'd suspend him 20 games. He could have broken his ribs.

I remember the rough fouls in the past, like from our own Knicks teams, but it was a different game then. Can't really compare it. What Bynum did stands out way too much, and as others have said, they were down big...

to me there's a huge difference between insituting the No Layup Rule and acts of arbitrary violence. Team knew they were going to get played physical by the Knicks. Players don't know when they are going to get a cheap shot from Bynum. That's not the No Layup Rule, nor a team philosophy, and Kobe and Phil both basically agreed that his (and Odom's) foul had no place in the game.

That Starks foul wasn't a "hey, I lost my cool, let me mame someone" foul like Bynum's was. I would have thought someone would have picked the headbut, or Doc Rivers v. Kevin Johnson or something like that. That's more on par with Bynum's loss of compusure, but even then, I didn't get the feel those guys were trying to end a career like I did with Bynum's play against the Mavs. The intent to injure was pretty obvious there

His actions are indefensible. He's the biggest guy in the league. How about he play some actual defense? In all of those plays he could have actually made a play at the ball to block it. I have zero respect for him.

Bynum could have made a hard foul without the elbow. Crashing into Barea body-to-body would have been a very good playoff hard foul. That foul was Detroit Bad Boys worthy.

I agree - watching that, if Bynum wanted to give a frustrated, tired of these little guys getting to the lane all the time, he had time to body him up and foul him hard.

I think Bynum's problems, like a lot of bigs, is that he is 7ft so any hard fouls tend to produce exaggerated results.

Now- were the Lakers look to dump him- he has $15M coming to him this year, and looks like a team option for the following year.

If I could trade Billups for him- that might better position us to get Chris Paul or Deron in a trade- assuming that Bynum could be 're-born' with a second chance.

Not saying I would - because frankly, Bynum has been too often injuried.

I think I'd rather invite Eddy Curry to camp and see if he could make our team and solve our five problems.

Bynum is a punk. That was the cheapest shot I have seen and yes, I have watched many Knick/Bull Knick/Pacer and Knick/Heat Games. 10 games is not a strong enough message. 25 games with no Pay.

bynum has had some real punkish fouls but i would take him in a second. he's had a ton of injuries so far in his career but he's one of the few legit centers in the league and when he's on the court he's very good.

Looked like Starks was going after the ball to me. Actually hit the ball first Pippens head got in the way should have been an offensive foul according to my orange and blue glasses.
