I think I might rather have ZBo- he is not a player that gets by with his athleticism. He will probably be able to perform at age 40!

Amare carried us in the first half of the season, but clearly used up all his gas in the process. He seemed a shell of himself down the stretch.

He is a better Power Forward but he isn't a better player, if that makes sense at all.

Yes, thats what I said. I said he is a better overall player. I didn't know the Knicks were signing a dude born to lead. Amare plays with heart and leads by example, Zach could never do that. Also, the only reason this is even a discussion is because Zach is a very good rebounder. But Amare is a better defender. Its possible I am biased cause Amare is a Knick so I need to find a bunch of neutral NBA fans for this one.

Amare is the slightly better player, and the much better locker room presence/ positive team presence/ team leader. So Amare is worth every bit of money that he costs more than Zach Randolph.

z-bo just signed 4 yr extension for 66 mil.

stat is on the books for 4 more years for 80 mil.

it is what it is. for the year, STAT's PER was 22.78, randolph 22.67.

STAT blocks shots, Z-Bo rebounds everything.

its a wash! lets move on. we have STAT & MELO! they are better than z-bo and crawford.

Strangely, Zach made more than Amare this year. Salaries are prob same'ish going forward.

right, my point was that it is false to say "zbo has never played with heart or led." he is still currently playing in the playoffs because he's done both of those things. how many times has the grizzlies coach said "we are where we are because of z-bo." literally every grizz game i've watched i've heard that line. he is the undisputed leader of that squad and it is false to say he has never played "with heart or led by example."

as pertains to right now and moving forward, which is what i thought the question of the thread was, its hard to dispute that its a wash. they had virtually identical PERs. STAT was at 25/8/2, z-bo was at 20/12. they get paid around the same money and are both 29 yrs old.

I can't even find the f--ing Alba thread! I thought it was supposed to be stickied (heh heh) at the top of the forums once the season is over? Not having Alba at the top of the site right now is possibly the largest oversight in the solar system.
