Centers to acquire through trade

-Andris Biedrins
-Brandon Haywood
-Anderson Varejao
-Gortat
-Marcus Camby
-Al Jefferson

I added Jefferson because he would give us a low post option. Funny thing is he was a good defender when he played in Boston.

take Gortat, AlJeff, Camby off that list.

Biedrins, Haywood and Varejao are solid options. I'd rate Varejao first.

Add Kaman to the realistic options list (and leave Deandre Jordan on the unrealistic options one).

You add Varejao and Jamal Crawford to this team in the off-seaon and you might have something.

we need a center and a guy who create from the guard position. i like jamal. he excelled in d'antoni's system.

We need bigs too I was listing more 2-3 type guys. We do not need to add another offensive player to play in this free willing system, causing the worst in them to come out.

Go ahead and make a bigs list

If everyone hates the idea of casting Jamal as lead guard, who are your suggestions?

I'm NOT sticking with Chauncey if I'm the Knicks.

Who else to be lead guard?

I would go after varejao, sonny weems and sessions... add it to this team and roll next year..

it's not just about adding "another offensive player"...

it's about adding a GUARD who can PENETRATE and finish at the rim. it's about adding complimentery talents and this team NEEDS a guard who can drive.

bigs list? how about:

Anderson Varejao
Robin Lopez (phoenix is committed to gortat now)
Javale McGee
Chris Kaman
Andreis Biedrins
Brendan Haywood
MAYBE Memhet Okur

centers who go on the "unrealistic" list: Camby, Tyson Chandler, Nene, Marc Gasol, Deandre Jordan, Gortat, Al Jeff

Not necessarily what we need first are players who play hard every play, irregardless of talent so that personality of this team changes. Stop thinking every move we make has to be one bordering or exacting staphucking.

Please let's put an end to this once and for all. Get this team hard working blue collar players that do a few things well and make you proud of this team. If the Rockets can win games with Chuck Hayes and Kyle Lowrys we can surround Melo and Amar'e with like players

Find them GM since you put us in this mess.

Realistically we are going to have to take what we can get. Beggars cant be choosers. Im talking straight salary dump for Billups contract and maybe through in our pick as a sweetner.

I like Jefferson because he is only 26. Guy rebounds and has good touch around the basket. Plus you get to utilize Amare less so he isnt run into the ground.

I envision the team running more half court sets in a traditional offense once D'Antoni is gone. So having a guy you can throw it to in the post for easy points is a nice luxury.

Sorry no more Crawford plus his price tag may not be as cap friendly.

Other under the radar players with size(or play bigger than their height), youth, athleticism, cheap, who'll play hard

Earl Clark
Carl Landry
Kris Humpries
Dante Cunningham
Jonas Jerebko
Brandan Wright

Heck if you are thinking about Jamal why not go after Marcus Thornton

Dude name some players we can acquire. Anyone can say we need this or that. We arent getting Kyle Lowry so who do you have in mind?

Melo, Amare, and Al Jefferson are capable of defending. Harder to get guys who can put the ball in the basket efficiently. Think Memphis. They have Gasol and Randolph dam near averaging 20 and 10 with another 20 pts from Rudy Gay. Guys like Tony Allen, Sam Young, and Conley fill in the rest.

Hell with those 3 guys taking the scoring load you can have a backcourt of TJ Ford and Jerry Stackhouse

I'm naming them. More than half the players I'm listing are free agents and come at a less starphucking price tag

Not sure how getting Al Jefferson who's under contract is anymore easier to get than the players I've mentioned. Jefferson is every bit the scorer Gasol is and more. Not quite the defender but still. No more acquiring guys who absolutely need the ball in order to be effective or else rendered useless.

Jefferson has 30 million remaining on his contract and Utah is in rebuild mode. Plus I dont think he wants to be in Utah.

Im not saying Jefferson solves all our problems. I'm saying he will help with the scoring load and grab rebounds unlike Amare.

You know we don't have alot of cap space right?

Of course that's why my list consist of bargains. This considering we keep or not pick up Billups option. If we don't then maybe we can add several players and not a player like Jefferson eating all that cap up leaving us with the challenge to fill our trouble spots which still include Center. Don't get me wrong he's got a nice skill set he simply solves none of our problems

Amar'e doesn't want to play center and we witnessing the results of playing him there a lot this year.

I don't see Deron or Paul making it to free agency anyway.

We need to roll with our 2 stars and try to win now.

didn't say we had to try to make a splash every year. Read what I wrote. It was a Jamal or use money in another place answer (and specifically target CP3 or Deron).

What's your choice?

If the knicks go all in next year Jamal off the bench would be a good fit. Depends on the starters though, but the if the knicks wipe Billups 13million off the cap they should be able to sign a Point Guard, 6th man and center.
