Rick Adelman doesn't care about shots falling in more than defense.

Would you want George Karl if he were free regardless if we had Melo or not?

George Karl is a jackass.

he balances offense with defense! not like MDA.

im scared to get a defensive coach because STAT might not listen to him( look at th suns) when they hired terry porter

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats/_/order/true

teams had nearly identical Offensive and Defensive Efficiency stats.

This is more of an endorsement - I certainly didn't watch any of the Houston games- but I think you could argue that they have lesser talent, and certainly, lesser stars than we do at present.

lesser stars at present may certainly be true, but that's not the whole context of the season.

I've always liked Adelman...I don't think most fans realize what his record actually has been over all these years. He has a very impressive track record. Probably has accomplished just as much as Sloan with as much recognition. Both guys have serious resumes. I don't think your reasoning can be "keep D'Antoni because there is no on better." There are good coaches out there. I'm not convinced you fire MDA yet, but I do like Adelman.

I don't see that our problem is about coaching. I see that we need upgrades to the roster. That's where the biggest improvements are going to come. We need quality size, PG, SG and quality depth. If i'm the GM that's what I would be looking to do over the next 2 years. Then this team will be a bonafide title team.

Adelman is a good coach and i'd have no problem with him, but to be honest most of what a team does is talent based. Everyone was riding Collins jock and now that he's in the series with the Heat his team just can't compete regardless of how good a coaching job he's done. 1st let's fix the holes in this roster and then worry about the coach. He's the least of our problems.

Wow. How short the memories are. Before Mike D'Antoni's "no defense, all offense" Suns were Rick Adelman's "no defense, all offense" Kings.

To say Rick Adelman coaches both sides of the ball is kind of funny. I even remember his Portland teams in the early 90s weren't exactly known for their defense, though they did make a Final.

I'm in the camp that says Adelman for D'Antoni is a pretty lateral move.

Put JVG on the table and we'll talk.

I think Adelman is a better coach than MDA. He will bring more defensive intensity and I think in the long run, we will be a better team if we bring him in. Unfortunately, I doubt it happens.

If MDA can have the team playing D the way they have been the last few games then we have no problem at coach...I hope the defensive intensity is a result of MDA somehow caring about the defensive end of things...Adelman is no defferent than MDA...Adelman just doesn't have a system...

adelman took ova 4 jvg in houston and had that team playing at a higher level immediately..jvg is most overrated coach..without having a star player like ewing having the coaches back the players dont buy into his bs

I think people forget what he did in Houston with a2 often injured stars.

The guy gets results unlike D'Antoni. No one can tell me Houston had a great team the last few years.

what results has he gotten that dantoni hasn't?

This guy will get everything out of our players!

what do you think dantoni's record was like out west? take a look

I think Adelman is slightly better but It's not by much. I think he wins by getting more out of less against tougher comp.

Sloan IS DAT COACH over anyone right now

Rick Adelman has gotten results with 3 teams with different kinds of talent.

Portland, Sacremento, and Houston.

D'Antoni has only had success with Steve Nash.

Adelman is a more versatile coach than D'Antoni. Adelman tailors the system to the players he has not the other way around.

keep it going dude, I think you are on a role. Perhaps you can let us know how Adelman adapted his system to his GSW teams and match that to how MDA did it with his first 2 years in NY. Both are a 2 year window. Both had crappy players. Both came after initial success with their first teams.

Seems about similar scenarios. Bring me some insight.
