So when we beat Chicago was it only cuz they were down one of their key players? How about the fact that we were down one of our key players last night? I don't think it had anything to do with that, but we did beat the Bulls under similar circumstances as they beat us yesterday. I don't see any superiority of their approach to ours when we play them head to head. In fact they just got lucky that we weren't hitting shots the way we usually do. They weren't shutting our attack down with their defense, which is why even tho we MISSED the open shot that Thibs called a timeout over, he recognized that it was an OPEN shot that we usually hit. The Bulls don't want to see the Knicks anymore than the other East teams do, cuz more often than not our offense works and it makes us tough to beat. Last night was the one bad offensive game in the last 7 wins. I'll take that ratio.
I'll take my chances playing this way cuz I believe that superior offense beats great defense. Much as you can't stop Rose, MJ, Kobe when they're on their game. I don't believe that in a spread offense that the Bulls can consistently stop Melo, STAT, Billups and TD. They have one guy that can't be stopped completely but we have several guys that can't be stopped completely. It puts tremendous pressure on the Bulls D and that's why we beat them. I don't think they can get lucky enough that we have more than one bad shooting game in a series. On MOST NIGHTS Melo is a terror, as is STAT and Billups and TD. The Celtics have much more credibility in terms of showing they can stop us rather than the Bulls.
