Derrick Rose scored 26 points on Tuesday giving him more than 2,000 for the season. Rose is only the third player in the past 30 years to have 2,000 points and 600 assists in one season. LeBron James did that in 2009-10 and Michael Jordan did it in 1988-89.

So let's say for sake of discussion that no one plays better as a result of Derrick Rose. Who cares? That is elite indivual production.

Rose really does remind me a lot of Marbury. A bigger, faster and stronger Marbury. Hopefully, he has a better noggin.

This kid seems to have his head on straight. During the game yesterday Marv said that no one gets yelled at in practice or during games more than Rose. He doesn't take it personally, he takes it as being coached. Seems pretty humble as well....I remember watching him being interviewed at the All Star game and thanking his teammates for getting him there.

I hope this kid good has a long career...he's a special player.

as for all these Marbury comparisons, Marbury failed in spite of his tremendous physical gifts. It's not liek Marbury couldn't make the amazing happen on the court. His failures had to do with shortcomings in other areas. Derrick Rose has none of these shortcomings.

The Marbury comparison is on the skillset. His head is another matter. Rose seems like he gets it.

I agree there but when I see the Marbury comparisons in a thread titled "Can Someone Tell Me Who Does Derrick Rose Make Better Besides Himself?" it seems like a a big backhanded compliment at Rose. I know it isn't necessarily, because Marbury's physical gifts were tremendous...

I used to like this kid, but the bulls fan and this ass backwards media has made rose a sickening discussion.. the guy is a combo guard.. end of story.. he makes no one else better.. I can go back to guys like kidd and nash and see the contracts they got for average players... if anything, guys like boozer have to work harder for baskets now...
