Tyson Chandler is making $12.7M this year. They have Haywood signed for 5 more years. Tyson is turning 30 next year. I think we can steal him from Cuban if we overpay a little. Let say $10-12M for 4 years so that his contract expires with Amare and Melo. I think he is worth the big contract. We don't need another max player. We just need to divy up the remaining space to 3 players. We would need to release Billups.

Donnie needs to purchase 2 extra picks. A late first round and a second rounder.

If he picks up his option, then we wont have much money to play with this off season and will have to rely on our draft pick which should be top 17 and we could use it on a Center/Project (Benson?). Picking u his option also means we might be a player in the Paul sweepstakes. However, because things haven't taken off right away after this trade, impatience may play a part in us releasing Billups and trying to add the pieces over the summer. Releasing Billups may change our draft strategy and make us look to snag a future pg (Fredette?) and maybe sign Dalembert, or go after Chandler to secure the 5 spot.

Look I'm tired of waiting for next year and next year! Forget CP we need something now. Ive been a Knicks fan for 50 years and as a kid it was just fun watching and then the 69 championship and the 73 championship. Now almost 40 years of
hard times with the exception of 1994 and 1999. I am a Knicks fan however I just might be like my son and pick another team to root for. When Garnet and Alan came to Boston My son became a Celtics fan I asked how could he do that and he said he was tired of watching the Knicks loose and the drama and he always liked Alan and Garnet and he wanted to be a winner. He said all his life he was backing a looser. the Knicks and it was time for a change.

We have a huger hole if Donnie walks

Chris Wilcox - only as a backup, hasn't he been here before?

Tayshaun Prince - no, we have enough tweeners with jumpers, need guys who can dive inside

HIlton Armstrong- He's 6-11 and rides the pine for the hawks who have absolutely nothing at center. you do the math

Etan Thomas - see Hilton Armstrong at three inches shorter

Big Baby Glen Davis - no to any Celtics

Joel Pryzbilla - no. too old.

Kwame Brown - a thousand times no

Anthony Parker- who?

Tyson Chandler - has found a home in Dallas and Mark Cuban ain't no fool

Yao Ming- c'mon son, get real.

Josh McRoberts - best find on the list. Maybe. But not as a starter. Backup.

TJ ford - hell no. I miss Ray Felton.

Samuel Dalembert - no

Josh Howard - no thank you

You sure got a whole lot of No's ! Well who do you recommend???

Something rational, reasonable and based in reality. The fantasy thing is like Trix. It's for kids.

I recommend any player who is an upgrade, young and ATTAINABLE. Josh McRoberts fits that criteria. Only because Donnie may have a hook up in Indiana.

Then again, if Donnie walks, all bets are off.

We're really gonna need to get someone in here who cares about putting a hand up on defense asap.

Getting some two way players and a PG who is not best suited coming off the bench at this point, especially against the quicker PGs, are other holes to fill.

Might also be nice if our "stars" could play consistent D, but we don't not want to ask for too much, do we?

If the stars don't play defense, than the accountability for that falls on the head coach.

This is my thinking as well. We don't need a max player. We could split that max money among several solid defensive players. If we can pick up a big via Free agency, we can draft a PG, Kemba, Brandon Knight or Jimmer may be available. NOlan smith will be available, we could trade down for him. We should buy a 2nd Round pick and grab Keith Benson too. He can be perfect for us with a little development.

Yup. I would go this route. I think Donnie has already metioned that he is thinking of using the cap space to several players instead of 1 max FA. I think this is the way to go and get more picks to replinish our roster.

You know that as soon as the Knicks ink Tyson to a 4 year $10m+ deal, his toe acts up again and he's out for like 50 games a year for 3 years running

When Chauncey is not shooting well, and he hasn't been for a while, he is nearly useless, because he is a scoring pg, and he takes alot of bad shots. he's even missing free throws. hes struggling with his shot so much and he keeps letting it fly.

How come no one here mentions Reggie Evans? He could play the 4 when Amare plays the 5 or knowing this coach could even play the 5 in spots.

McRoberts does seem like he's got some game and I definitely wouldn't mind signing him on the cheap.

Of course not. It's never the player's fault for not playing. MDA has to go on the court and hold their hands.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Actually I think it is this. If as a coach you teach, practice and stress defense and you have a guy that chooses not to play that way you hold him accountable for not focusing on the team goal of stopping the opponent and you take away or limit his minutes. It isn't a new concept and it isn't outrageous. It also isn't going to happen with this coach.
