Billups tells the media that his wish is to still be in a Knick uniform next season, and beyond. From ESPN: “Chauncey Billups said late Monday night that he’s hoping to remain with the New York Knicks next season and ‘going forward.’ Billups’ contract contains a team option for 2011-2012 for $14.2 million. The Knicks can pick up the option or buy Billups out for $3.7 million. ‘I haven’t ruled anything out. Obviously, I’m hoping to be a New York Knick next year and going forward after that. But I can only control so much,’ Billups said. Billups said that his agent, Andy Miller, has had preliminary conversations with team president and general manager Donnie Walsh about Billups’ future with the club. Walsh has said in the past that he would not rule out signing Billups to an extension.”

I'm glad he says he wants to be a knick next year and "going forward after that" (whatever that means), but on the other hand he has one big ass paycheck next year so who wouldn't

i tend to agree... i think the timing is an issue as it was for Felton & Amare early in the season when we were playing 3-8 basketball... even moreso now Billups is trying to appease 2 superstar players who both expect their touches i often see him a little unsure of which player to go to out there at times... the more these guys play together the better things will get eventually... we played some really good basketball vs the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks & Memphis Grizzlies i don't see why this team can't get back to playing well... the panic button has been pressed by the trade doubters way prematurely.

Really, you were such an advocate for the trade, im not sure if your comments are honest or bias.. but no matter how you look at it, we should be better the .500 or to be acurate, better then 2 games below .500

of course my comments are biased... everyone's comments are biased, that goes without saying... it works both ways i'm not pretending to be some impartial judge & jury over this thing.

& I agree i think we should be better than .500, definitely should not have lost those games vs the Cavs, Pacers & Bucks those losses were painful to watch i get it people aren't head over heels over Melo he's not the most likeable guy on the planet... but really so what? if i wanted likeable i never woulda been in favor of trading David Lee

it's not likeable. 90-95% of the guys on this board would love him if we were 11-5 like we should be if he were living up to his rep.

what's been his rep? that he doesn't play defense & that he's an offensive player that scores a ton of points... that's pretty much what he's been living up to isn't it? he also hit that game winning shot vs the Grizz do we win that game w/o Melo? i don't think we do... i also think we could have won some of the games we lost if other guys stepped up & weren't launching up bricks, i can't put too much blame on a guy who's averaged what is it 24 ppg since he's been a Knick? IMO it's the easy way out to blame all the chemistry issues on Melo IMO Billups playing the way he's been playing since he got back from injury has been a much more major cause of our poor play... even still i'm not giving up on Billups either i think he's been way too good over his career to believe he won't figure things out w/his new teammates.

I agree. I think Billups will end up being a big part of this teams success.

Billups getting acclimated is the key to our success. TD is playing about as well as he can, but we can't have CB not playing well. We've actually had a chance to win a lot of these games we've lost if we executed down the stretch. I can only hope the games left are enough for CB to get it together.

OK, putting my D'Antoni dislike away, if we keep Billups, woud you guys keep the coach even though our PG wouldn't be the best fit for the system or do you believe they can actually work at some point?
