Now anyone who critiques him is a "hater" apparently. It's back to holding guys to sainthood around here when they've accomplished nothing. We should all apologize and respect St. Carmelo and St. Amar'e, for they can do no wrong.

I agree with you that we can't give our stars a pass if they'r enot bringing the effort, but Melo was playing pretty good defense last night. He wasn't Bruce Bowen but he was playing pretty good D. Amar'e never plats good D. He's the worst on defending a screen and pop.

thank you... not even saying Melo was lockdown out there but he was giving forth an honest effort on defense, Clyde even made a point to comment on it, which is something all the complainers wanted him to do but that's still not good enough... not a negative word about all the horrible turnovers committed by Chauncey Billups or the non-existent defense (not) being played by Stat, just another Melo is Starbury thread because he shook his head at Toney Douglas after a fastbreak... ridiculous.

I call bull crap. Check out the GameThread and you will see differently. There are several threads on how bad Stats D is.

This trade was a huge mistake both on a basketball and personal level. Notice he didn't say team!

Marbury didn't take high volume low percentage shots. He drove to the hole andscored or got fouled. Marbury was a terrible leader and teammate.

The explosion thing and the criticism of his defense were 2 different things. In no way shape or form did I write that one was an excuse or explained by the other.

Started about 2 months ago and for the last month he has been wearing those thigh-high stockings. Could be the result of him getting knocked in the knees earlier in the year.

i don't think u need me to point out that the criticism of Stat is not even close to what Melo gets on these forums it should be pretty obvious... this is the Houston vs Spree thing all over again... people can't even be happy we now have 2 superstars on this team you have to now pick a side & remain loyal to that side no matter that Stat is going 11 for 28 from the field it's because his knees are shot & Melo needs to take less shots... God forbid Melo ever plays well for us maybe we can finally start winning some games i guess... but when that happens we all know it's because of MDA's coaching brilliance.

I don't know about you, but for me having no idea how to defend the PnR, box out, take a charge or how to rotate on D or give effort has nothing to do with explosion on legs.

Perhaps I should have just created a new thread.

u create a thread about Amare's gimpy legs, complain about his defense & now you're telling me having gimpy legs has no bearing on how you look on defense... maybe u should tell Patrick Ewing that.
