Denver is interesting now. They are, by far, the deepest team in the league. Who knows what will happen in the playoffs, but I think they're going to be a very interesting team that's going to give their opponent a lot of headaches.

This is an unusual situation. Normally, when there's a trade involving giving up a superstar for a bunch of other pieces, it's a team that's currently doing pretty bad. In Denver's case, they were already a playoff team and may be even better now.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

When this current Nuggets team can get to the western conference finals and extend the Lakers to the end, then we can say they are just as good if not better. They have good supporting players but as I said earlier, they are missing a closer (Anthony) to take them over the top.

Their team is going nowhere in the west and this will very apparent next year when they start with zero wins and not 30+ wins.

Did he say swept?

Classic.

Yeah, that did that once. I'm not knocking Anthony, just I think the Nuggets have a very good team. I have no idea if they have a real shot of making it out of the first round, but they weren't making it out of the first round with Anthony this year, anyway. That's all I mean. Comparing against years past is irrelevant; I was talking about this year.

They are trying harder, going off adrenaline, feeling themselves a bit, but eventually when they hit a patch, they will come back down to earth.

Tell that to the Cavs and Raptors.

The Cavs were playing mediocre-ball to start the season, at least until they got embarrassed at home by James himself. The Raptors were bad even with Bosh.

I think they definitely would have picked up their play after the deadline past if Anthony would have re-upped with them. The Melodrama was definitely a distraction.

some folks like to dwell.

You can actually tell in the topic thread if the topic is about the Knuggets. You guys really don't have to read the discussions.

How many games do you think they take off of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins in Round 1 with the OKC having home court?

Or maybe, with Brandon Roy back, the Blazers move up to 5th seed - they're one loss behind Denver and own the tiebreaker. In which case, the Nuggets would be 6th and play the Lakers.

The might take a game or two, but they're not getting out of the first round. We saw what happens to them in playoffs type games vs Portland - they don't have a guy to take the big shots at the end of the game anymore, they freeze and take horrible shots. Gallo may learn some day, but asking him to come back from injury in a week or two and become that guy with a month to go in the season is a bit much.

And when they do lose in the first round and people who are saying that depth is no match for quality in the NBA (aka pro-Melo) post about it, the people still lamenting the trade will either get very angry or very quiet. Kind of like what happened with the Jordache Hill debate or the Houston pick swap debate.

Strange to think about, but if Balkman had remained with Denver they would have had 6 ex-Knick players and 1 former draft pick on their roster.
