Deandre Jordan and Greg Oden are both restricted free agents. We have to over pay for either so I'd prefer to overpay for the less injury prone Jordan. Clippers are cheap and I don't see them wanting to pay Jordan depending on the new CBA. If we do a deal like Portland signed Milsap too they make decide to pass.

I would probably agree with getting Jordan over Oden, even though I think Oden is a better center if healthy. I wonder if we really could get Howard in 2012. Howard, Amare, and Melo would form the greatest frontline in the history of the NBA. That would be even better than the Bird, McHale, Parrish frontline of the Celtics back in the 80's.

Oden has never been healthy. Ever. Its a bad investment. Your going to go as far as Oden can take you. Its disruptive to have to deal with a huge piece being so unstable. If he's healthy the team will rely on him. When he breaks it will screw us up more than it would have helped in the first place.

There are other bigs.. you have to be patient developing sometimes

If we offered him the full MLE (assuming there is one) Clipps would match. Its more likely they resign him and trade Kaman

Yea I know. I dont know our cap situation but I'd throw our cap space at Deandre. Worse case we force the Clippers to eat up their cap space if they resign him.

Im hoping we dont pick up Billups 14 million dollar option and instead sign him to a 3 yr 30 million dollar deal or something.

I think as part of the trade we agreed to pay him next year, but I think he would also be open to an extension. We, however, have agreed that we would not cut him.

With that said, the guy is too unreliable when it comes to his health, and even when he is healthy, he never had the greatest motor. It's a bad combination, especially for MDA. If we want to learn from history, we don't give this guy a contract unless it's the LLE, and I doubt he'll go for that.

If the cap stays the same we should have roughly $8 mill in cap space if we let all our free agents go.

That's not happening because we aren't letting Billups go. Agreeing to pick up his option was park of the Carmello deal I believe.

i think the most realistic scenario is that we bring Jerome Jordan back from Euro league.

he was a defensive big who could block shots and rebound in college.....can't wait to see him again in summer league..this could would fill an obvious need if he has found his game

The Melo trade took us out of the Jordan/Gasol sweepstakes....

Anyone who thinks both these guys are accepting the MLE are out of their gourd. That's all we have to offer and no S&T's are out of the question too. Remember we decided to pick up Billups 2011 salary $14millie. We're at $58.5 cap with 7 players under contract. 5 empty roster spots at $450k hit per slot puts us over the cap even with a projected increase next year.

For crying out loud Kendrick Perkins just received 4yrs/$35mil....Nail in Coffin on acquiring Jordan and most certainly not Gasol. Blazers also are reported to match any offer Oden receives and realistically speaking he probably receives at best what Perk receives. Why match this?

Oh well then we definitely arent getting a RFA.

Hopefully we court Dalembert heavily. Even though I think he will take the MLE from Miami.

I'll go after Oden if he will agree to a reasonable deal. And reasonable is peanuts. No way can you justify signing this guy to more than 2-3m a year, given his injury history. You're not talking an ankle sprain here and there. The guy has no knees and is aging at a rate twice that of the average NBA baller.
WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

The only 2 exceptions is a Hard Cap topping out at $70mil lux tax territory on a newly agreed CBA deal. Even then we'd hardly have any wiggle room. We're on the other side of $60mil in cap. We could hope Turiaf decides to opt out to go after a larger/long term deal somewhere else

The Melo deal will continue to strip us of our garments. That's why a deep playoff run is only acceptable no less than a second round 7gm loss run

Even if his contract was full of incentives, the cap hold would be the same as if all the money was guaranteed.

I'd roll the dice on Oden for ONE YEAR only. If he plays over 60 games, consider signing him again for a year. If he does it again, consider a long-term deal.

But some dudes got glass joints. He might be one of them.

You asked for it:

3 guys get pulled over by a woman cop. They tried to get out of the speeding ticket, so the woman said if all ur dicks equal up to 15 inches ill let you off. The driver pulls out his dick which is 7 inches. The guy in the front of the passenger seat pulls his out which is 6 inches. The last guy in the back pulls his out and it's 2 inches. So they get out of the ticket. After a while one guy says:"If it wasn't for my 7 inches of manhood we'd get a ticket." Second guy unswers" No, if it wasn't for my 6 inches we woulda gotten a ticket" Then they hear the 3rd guy laughing hysterically in the back. The driver asks, "What's wrong why are you laughing?" the guy in back says: "Good thing I was popping a boner !"

good one.

i thought the punch line was going to be:

The backseat passenger, Greg Oden, says, "Chill guys. I got this."
