I cringe as I write this, but I honestly think Jeffries will make a big difference. Turiaf is probably slightly better on offense, but Jeffries is a better defensive player than Turiaf or Williams. He should allow Amare to play PF for the majority of the time, which is a good thing. I will be very interested in seeing how our defense looks in the next 5-7 games once Jefferies gets back into the swing and MDA has a few practices to work on the defensive rotations.

People may not remember, but our team defense took a nosedive once Jeffries was traded last year. He will have an impact on the defensive side of the ball and as long as he is handed the ball within 2 feet of the basket with not one on him, he should make %50 of his dunk attempts.

I thought Jared was a difference maker last year too. We weren't a good defensive team, but losing him made it far worse. You could see how he helped anchor the D and makeup for the guys who weren't so good defensively. On this team it's a perfect situation for him. He literally can just focus on his strengths and that's pretty much all we need. He made us look good tonight and he didn't do anything but be in great position most of the time.

Funny but I always felt he'd wind up coming back.

Totally agree with this. He is a nice fit on a team with stars.
