Carmelo, first of all you are the man. Second of all, we need to take advantage of that. Dwight is a great shot blocker, however he can only commit 6 fouls the whole game. We had 116 possessions this game(btw Magic only had 87) If you just ran into him a bunch of times he would have fouled, a lot. And to take him out of the game he only needs a few fouls per quarter. Without him the Magic is poop. I understand that he is a great shot blocker, but the advantage is on our side here because the refs can only bail him out so many times per game, given how many posessions per game we usually have. Magic should be our biatches, all day, every day.

Too early to tell. We are still very small, are a pathetic rebounding team, and play sporadic defense. Our offense still nees more time to click. If we dont pick up a big I say we have very little chance.

That's what Jeffries aka Mr Flop is for. Howard is usually foul prone.....thus the 15 techs. We didn't take advantage of that.

Actually, I made a mistake, 116 to 87 are shot attempts. To get possessions I forgot to add the turnovers. It was 124 possessions for us to 103 possessions for them.

With our last real possession in the game against the cavs don't run into the freakin guy. You know they are gonna try to get a stop. Pull up for the baby 7 foot jumper instead. I know its easier said than done but we really needed to go to overtime against them. We just lost to the cavaliers 2nd time after we got you. I thought you were an offensive genius. You better MAKE SOME SHOTS AT THE END OF THE GAME TO WIN , BECAUSE AS OF RIGHT NOW ITS NOT LOOKING GOOD.

This team honestly has a good shot at what?

We've had more disappointing losses this year than Clyde has tacky suits.

So long as Dolan is the owner, the team will never have good long term goals... it will always be a franchise driven to look for the next shiny new thing, and will never get a championship. Unless the CBA brings in a radically different salary structure where teams can overpay to get talent with no regard for a cap (see MLB with the Yankees) there's no way the Knicks can get a championship.

You need to setup the team's salaries in a way where there is enough of a window for 1-2 stars to mesh with cheap talent relative to their salaries to get a championship level team. See San Antonio, OKC, Houston for good examples. I also like how the Kings are setup currently.

Rose is not the answer.

This loss is unacceptable, but so is the typical reactions of some here. While its understandable to feel frustrated, some of you just feel the urge to think we are completely doomed and will never be good as long as (insert the name of the coach, GM, owner etc.) are around.

Whatever happens this season doesn't take away the fact that we have a solid core of stars in the big three and a few solid role players like Fields, Turiaf, and even JJ. (others could step up soon). Do we have everything against us, from lack of chemistry, lack of depth especially at the 5, and unrealistic expectations for this year? Sure, but we took a step towards a championship this season and from now on we have a better chance to reach that level than before.

Can you guys please get over the trade already?

You can't calculate it this way. Shot attempts where the player is fouled do not show up.

This lack of a center has been going on for 3 years and they never addressed it until Moz and it would take him 2 years to be ready to play.

Moz was already changing games for the better. He was rapidly improving. I would say he was pretty much "ready to play".

Its only a few games since the trade- it is not possible to "get over the trade" this early on.

It will even get worse, though, if the Knicks continue to be hot/cold, and Denver keeps playing like they have since Melo left, and the 4 players we gave up become important members of a team on the rise.

Our "solid core of stars," despite their talents, also have many blemishes in their respective games, especially on the defensive end.

You would think trading for a 'superstar' would yield immediate positive results, and the team receiving the 'role players' would struggle early.

But now we're told that, having traded for a 'superstar', we have to wait, wait for this wait for that, while the 'role players' we sent are winning something close to 85% of their games.

George Karl was quoted as saying his post trade team is the best team he has had in the last 5 and half years. The Knicks gave up way too much and that doesn't even include the cap space or draft pick.
