http://www.teamrankings.com/nba/team-stat/blocks-steals-category ..extra possessions and if you knock down more shots too you win.

Thibs looks good.

He has a good team.

His roster is well balanced and can contend.

We want the Knicks to win and when that happens who ever the coach is will look good.

It's not that he doesn't coach defense. He's just not good at putting a premium on it because he's too busy harping on ball movement and shots falling.

That is why they have coaches not singular "coach"

I was making a point that it is not all Mike you have to see the bigger picture. You practically answered my point.

Dolan owns the team. If you are making a point fire Mike for his stupid assistants then why would the Giants (football) fire Tom instead of his assistant?

Football is different than basketball. In football you have an offensive and defensive coordinator and if a team falters in one department then the coach is blamed and fired. The head coach is consulted first before a move is made. If the defense was playing poorly than the head coach needs to either talk the owner out of the firing or agree with it based on what the players say.

There are no coordinators in basketball, just assistants. And they wont get fired because Mike D'Antoni doesn't want to fire them (especially his brother) and doing so would undermine him. He has been asked to add a defensive coach before, refused and resigned from Phoenix.

This has nothing to do with football.

Mike D'antoni has always been known and will continue to be known as an offensive minded coach who does not understand the value of good defense.

My point is not about football, which you are not getting. My point is why fire a head coach when the assistants are not getting the job done (this is an assumption since we don't work with the team, just outside observers).

Mike D'Antoni is the problem, not the assistants. Assistants aren't hired to do what a head coach should be doing.

Because in pr sports, the head coach always is the one that catches the heat. You're seriously blaming D'antoni's assistants for the Knicks' lack of defense and not D'antoni himself?

Fine, you seriously blaming Mike for lack of players who think defense?

It's the coaches job to get his players to buy into his system. Offensively, they have. Defensively, they haven't which goes back to my original point.

He doesn't care about defense as much as offense.

Look, you are entitled to your opinion and my opinion like yours is based on outside observation. I will never agree with your opinion since it is also based on outside observation not internal to the business. You don't need to be within the organization to realize it. Any unbiased fan with a realistic approach will tell you what I'm telling you.
