That's a big deal. Imagine the turmoil it will cause opposing teams trying to devise their defensive schemes. Both demand double teams... and someone's going to get a good look.
Yes because we all know, we had problems scoring, and scoring wins championships. Can people please stop spewing this crap about our offense which we never had a problem with?
We just got the best clutch shooter in the league. We had scoring but we didn't have this kind of clutch shooting, we didn't have someone who could close out games like Melo. You can run the score up all you want but if you get shut down in crunch time it doesn't matter. Plenty of games this season that illustrated this problem. Stat can be clutch but Melo is on a different level.
Defense needs to improve or you wont have opportunity for your clutch shooting. Gallo and Chandler are two way players but not elite scorers provided some descent defense.
I agree 100% the defense has to improve but what would be harder to get someone like Melo or Gallo/Chandler? We already had one of the worst defenses in the league so its not like they kept the Knicks from being at the bottom defensively, they were already there. It starts with the coach, he has to set the tone.
