Let's get a real center. That is our first priority now. Reggie is listed at 6'8" and is probably a little shorter than that.
We just got Sheldon Williams who plays similar to Reggie.

Celts wanted Brewer and now are trying to trade Daniels contract for Anthony Parker. Daniels would be bought out according to reports. I don't know if contracts match but maybe Knicks could move Brewer for Daniels and get the cap space.

I read we were trying to move him by getting another team involved. Minny didn't want him at $5 mil for next year.

I kind of think we will keep him. Knick probably will be slightly over the cap at the beginning of next year, so there is not real gain by NOT offering him qualifying.

Makes no sense if Mike's not gonna use him..No doubt you heard this Big, I'm sure you're probably right..But if Brewer never plays here, it'll just show that Mike and Donnie reall aren't on the same page sometimes afterall..I was actually looking forward to seeing Corey Brewer get some time last night..I think Brewer has more to offer this team than Billy Walker.

QO are team options.

If Minny didn't want him, all they had to do was not extend the QO.

Exactly. And they would have lost him for nothing. Now they have AR plus I believe we gave them $3 Mil to take Curry's contract which would cover the rest of this year's payment. So Minny saves money in a number of ways - and now by paying AR's contract of $1.96 mil vs Brewer's $3.7 mil. They turned Brewer leaving into AR at a lesser salary and have him for an extra year to give him a chance to develop. Minny did well.

NO NUT GRABBERS ON THE KNICKS. Please don't even consider it
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Azu and Mason can though and is enough salary.

You willing to trade AZ without him playing one single game

really, you would have thrown a very suspect offensive player in the mix without seeing him practice, or know if and where he would fit..In the middle of a playoff race your experimenting..lol

Guess you're right..Eventually though I'd like to see Brewer over Walker.

Looked it up again. I was indeed wrong.

Thanks for correcting me.

For others: You can't trade Brewer with other players right now; it has to be a straight 1-for-1 deal. Something like that. Not sure of exact details but that's the brunt of it.

Still makes no sense. What's the point?

Because without the limitations, there be chaos. Teams could make trades on paper and using the 125% trade limitation, keeping making transactions to bypass the limitation.

For instance I can trade a player who makes $4m, for a player who makes $5m, then turn the $5m player into a $6.25m player, and him into a $8m player. At the end of the day you'd have turned a $4m player into an $8m player.

Technically that can still happen withe the one-for-one provision, but multi-player trades would make this MUCH easier and faster. It would allow teams over the cap just to constantly move players on paper, escalating their spending without limitations.

Last night was essentially a free for all out there w/ Billups and Melo winging it. I doubt it would've hurt to give Brewer some burn. It's not like he would've hurt the D because they looked lost times out there, pre-trade Knicks included.

I completely agree that I would ultimately like to see him playing over Walker at some point soon.
