I did not expect much from the game because of the circumstances but I took a lot.

Chauncey gives you that same feel that Ward and Harper gave me. That there is a winner leading the charge. A steady hand. Felton was erratic, probably coulda grown into that role but maybe not.

Melo is RAW. He doesn't have the flash of Wade or Lebron but dude gets ish done. I am about to give him high praise here. He would have fit on the mid-90's Knicks. He just gives me that raw, lunch pail feel.

Douglas learning from Chauncey(a similar player in his youth) will reap nothing but good.

Our rebounding needs help. By rebounding I mean a big who can clear some space underneath, not necessarily a heavy rebounder. I saw our guys get pushed around too much down low. We don't have any strength in the paint. Shelden should play.

Someone mentioned it before, with the Bucks shooting like that I felt if we had not made the trade we would have lost.

We will need one consistent threat off the bench. He may be here (TD) he may not. But we need it.

The defense was solid. More solid then I expected.

My look ahead moves:

Mason, Balkman, Kelenna, Brewer OR Turiaf for Camby

Kelenna OR Brewer, Mason, Balkman for Pryzbilla

Kelenna, Mason, Balkan for Foster

Daily News says Knicks don't want Foster because he doesn't fit D'Antoni's offensive style. Nice to see that even when we're looking for rebounding the guy needs to be able to shoot 3's and score from everywhere for Mike.

Or has to have some semblance of an offensive game and needs to block shots...

If they are uninterested so be it. I'll be happy with signing Murphy and JJefferies.

Jeff Foster is a respected veteran. We need defense down low. We have enough shot blocking. Defense and rebounding.

Now, if we got Marcus Camby I'd be ecstatic. I don't think they're trading him though.

Troy Murphy plays no defense but can rebound. I would definitely go after him if we don't make a trade. Especially when our 2nd option is Earl Barron.

I read the Knicks are hoping Camby is bought out(Berman) We need a starting caliber defensive center.

If we can't get Camby I am going on a signing binge....

JJ, Murphy, Barron come on down!

I guess this thread doesn't suit you when we lose.

ha. Unlike your username (GKF, GKFv2, Childs2Dudley), I'll stand behind what I post. When the breaks are beating the boys--rebrand your username!

Are you mad? I think you're getting a little tense.

I think I saw a little sweat coming from his post.

This and the Anubis thread were a bit premature given the nature of the opponent we defeated in Melo's debut.

The gods know what threads we will see if we upset Miami on Sunday. I may start a "The Dynasty Begins" thread.

The success or failure of this trade will be seen a couple of years down the line, but I was against the trade when it was made, and have no reason to think differently after these first 2 games.
