Sorry, 6'7 guy is not a center. Don't care about his wingspan.

Tell that to Dejuan Blair--hes starting C for the best team in the league

They also have 6'11 Tim Duncan playing defense and grabbing rebounds. We don't have that.

C'mon, doesn't matter what the scorecard says, Duncan is their center.

10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% agreed. He rebounds and won't clog the middle on offense. I'm not a huge Okur fan but I'd see if the Jazz want to dump him. He was already on the bench and the just got Favors

They have Favors, Milsap and Jefferson so not a lot of room for Okur to play. He's got a back injury though. Don't know when he's due back at this point.

thought he came back to play against the Knicks... unless he's out again?

You cut 2 guys (Mason, Azu, Shelden Williams, whatever -- Anthony Carter I might wanna hold onto for PG depth insurance for the time being) & go get me Jeff Adrien AND Marcus Cousin...That's the ticket -- go get me those 2 and I'm ready to go to war..That's IF they're even thinking about the D-League to make some smart & necessary team enhancements, moves that won't adversely affect the cap..Somehow I don't think they'll go this route but I think it's their best option, short & even long-term possibly. If not, I'm warming up to the idea of grabbing Troy Murphy on the cheap if and when he becomes available..VDesai's right: Murphy's been a good pro when healthy. He'll help in the rebounding department and he can shoot.

Reported trade coming over the wire right now --- Celts working on a trade that Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson to the OC Thunder for Jeff Green and N. Kristic. Wow.. Do the Celtics have enough in the middle now? Perkins is (was) very underrated to that team..If they have Perk at 100% last year maybe they beat the Lakers..When he went down last year at the very end it was a huge deflating blow for Boston. Jeff Green's nice but OC can find a replacement..Perkins is gonna help that Thunder team, esp. if they matchup with the Lakers again in this year's playoffs..

Another two trades coming down:

Shane Battier going to Memphis for H Thabeet and a 1st round pick

Aaron Brooks going to PHX for Goran Dragic and a 1st rounder

Interesting..Watching NBA TV trade deadline special -- DA saying '6-7 trades just exploded in the last min.'

I think the Knicks are actually improved in the rebounding department with Melo on board. We saw a little of it last night. He has a better rebounding rate - meaning he grabs a higher percentage of available rebounds - than Amar'e.

With Amar'e and Melo around 8 or 9 per game and Fields and Billups being top rebounders at their positions... I think the team will be okay. But they do need a center. Or some sort of health elixir for Mr Turiaf.

Watching Chris Kaman play last night would've made a nice addition. I think if we can pick up Murphy it solidify our Center position temporarily with Turiaf.

With Murph outside hitting 3's and leaving the paint to Amare & Melo, we'd be very difficult to defend.

We offer Troy Murphy the only opportunity to start & excell (amongst playoff teams) in his walk year.

Agreed. I think Troy Murphy could be a good fit here.

There's almost no chance the Knicks could have gotten Kaman because he makes too much money, but Troy Murphy will be a nice fit if he's bought out.

Rumored trade between Memphis and Indy is off per NBA channel.

Memphis was prepared to send OJ Mayo to Indiana for Josh McRoberts and a 1st round pick..Memphis supposedly pulled out at the last second..WOW..That would've been highway robbery for Indy, no? Holy..

supposedly Memphis is hard to deal with because their owner and GM are not on the same page AT ALL. owner often overrules his GM at the last second on trades the GM has agreed to. other teams get pissed off trying to figure it out.

Indy must be pissed right now.

Was gonna ask about Kaman, he's actually be the perfect center here.
