Utah made out big in what was about to turn into another bad situation. NJ will improve but not by much. That team still has alot of holes to fill.

Proko got his just deserts for jacking up the price for Melo on us. Now he loses his prized picks and rookie just to rent DWill for half a season !!! lol

This is NOT a great move for the Nets unless he signs an extension and they get him another guy to play with by next season before they go to Brooklyn. If the team is similar as it is today after next season he's bolting.

they might be banking on a franchise tag...

but otherwise, they just gave up a mammoth package for 1.5 guaranteed seasons of deron williams.

Move you have to make if you're the Nets. But the extension thing will be interesting.

And where is the rest of the roster coming from? Team is now in need of warm bodies at sg, sf and pf.

Where are the coming in in free agency in the next 2 years?

If I were the Nets I do the deal a dozen times over and give them all the credit in the world.

Holding onto Williams is going to be the key though.

Exactly.. They must know he'll resign, but I've never heard of this deal before 5 minutes ago so who knows if he even knows

Does anyone really think He won't resign? That an extension of max money is already agreed to?

Anyone really think that Newark for one year is that much of a hell hole for 20mil a year?

I do admire Utah for this quick move to get good value for a great player.

Also get rid of a malcontent who is trouble.

Do I want him as our point? Hey, when did character ever matter for the knicks?

and it will be triple embarrassing if he walks to NY. Franchise tag and salary parameters will be big determinants.

great trade for NJ. Deron and Melo are in the same caliber, and NJ paid less then they would have for Melo, but not much less. Favors was their pick after a season where they were the worst team in the league. Harris is a hell of a talent if he's ever healthy and they gave up multiple #1s also trading recent lottery picks like Williams and Jingaling to get those picks.

If you dont think NJ didnt give up as much as the Knicks your really not paying attention
