This is a big year for the draft. The Knicks weren't allowed to trade this years pick, just swap it.

One player to consider (if he comes out) is Lucas Nogueira of Brazil. He's a thin athletic 7 footer with a long wingspan. Draft Express lists him at 225, while nbadraft.net lists him at 200. Draft Express said, "Averaging a double-double at 11.8 points and 10.5 rebounds while contesting shots all over the place in just 25 minutes per-game, Nogueira has made an impact on both ends of the floor with his tremendous size and wingspan." nbadraft.net is concerned about his attitude.

I was reading about him and I was not happy when I read "Lazy" associated with this kid.

fishmike--its a great draft for our needs. there are excellent secondary PGs--meaning down on the board that not only have the ability to be back ups but NBA starter ability. rautins is not an NBA PG or a back up. and we nee to fill that certainty--in fact if we feel someone is that good-it may change my thinking big to small --but I would like to go big and then look to buy a second and go small Lord knows we need the pieces.

Guys like Tu Holloway Norris Cole Kemba Walker Charles Jenkins Nolan Smith Jordan taylor--these guy are all upper class man and 20-5-5 players(never saw this many that can be had later in the draft from the PG position.
Im still pretty much sticking with my pick of Jordan Williams from Maryland. he has that rugged size that you want and can easily play back and forth as a true 5 or 4 has the power for the 5. he has the bodyweight/strength and athletic ability that the guys projected to go in the top 3 have. Pure low post. Incredible mitt like hands soft touch and high motor. hes a guy who could develop into a 20-10 NBA player. When he was a s enior in Ct @ Torrington high he shot 80% from the field and avg 38 points. He needs just a tad bit of NBA level /personal trainer type stuff --but not much and with the way he works--hes going to be very good. So on first basis I would go big with pick 1 and try like heck to pick up a low 1 or high 2 to grab a PG.

I think the Knicks should focus on developing a PG out of this draft and trying to add a big man with their 2012 cap room.

For me, any front line player we pick has to play some D- since you are not going to get much from Amare and Melo. If Williams has the head to play D, he is someone I would consider if I'm the GM for the Knicks.
