The only trade we could make with his contract now that we cleared our asset base is for longer garbage contracts like the Arenas' of the league. Rather we not go back to Isiah like moves.
The only real way we can acquire Paul or Deron will be in FA. We just won't have the pieces to pull off a midseason deal like we did now. So the key is making sure we have the space, and unlike with Melo, they won't have the uncertainty of a new CBA hanging over their heads. Instead, they'll both look at their current teams devoid of stars, and see a Knick team with Melo/Amar'e and about $13M in cap space in 2012 (which could turn out to be more depending on how everything shakes out)
