Contenders for?????

In an earlier thread I began, nobody was able to give me any example to disprove my hypothesis that there has never been a team with two one-dimensional star scorers (good O, no D) which has won a championship. I can find examples of teams which did not win with such a pairing, but there are no examples where such teams did win a title.

This is what we have now, and unless you can pick up a Dwight Howard, you are never going to win a title with two such players and the cap issues we will soon have.

Once a year we will now be able to see two Knicks on the Eastern Conference All-Star starting 5, but it is doubtful that we will even see this team reach a conference finals, let alone an NBA finals.

The 2 main pieces are here, and Fields is still a Knick.

Everyone just relax.

Let's see how Amare and Carmelo mesh before throwing any parades.

Yeah I understand and can assure you that I haven't been a fan since Janaury I've been a fan for over 20 years. I watched the Knicks get crushed by MJ, losingin 7 to the Rockets and wathed the Spurs beat the Knicks without Ewing. Dolan owns the team. At the end of the day he's calling the shots. Was DW 100% nehond this trade. Nope. DW wouldn't have given up so much but it's not his team.

They still need a few pieces but are a heck of a lot closer now than they were before. The Knicks now have two studs that then can build around. There is not one player the Knicks gave up in the trade that cannot be replaced.

I think over this years the special type of fans was developed in NYC to accept just that.
So naturally to make top returns from Knicks/Rangers MSG have to run with this fan base.
It is good for both sides. No hard work required fron operatives and no bbal knowledge from teh fans.
Life is fun and easy. Way to go baby!!!

Not bad for a team with 0 practice time. They looked a little lost out there at time but this team is going to be fun and competitive. Cake walk over the Cavs tomorrow and a good test to see how close/far we are against the Heat in Sunday. The Knicks are back!

I think the Heat test is coming a little early. They're still going to be feeling each other out against the Heat who play some of the best defense I've seen in the NBA this season.

I agree but it will be interesting to see how competitive they are. It could be ugly but I'm pumped.

One thing to consider is that Melo routinely destroys Lebron.

And given the makeup of the Heat's roster - they really have no other choice but to put Bron on Melo.

I agree - it will be very very fun. Must see TV.
