Isiah is in; Walsh and D'Antoni are out. Gettin Melo was fine. What we gave up and especially what we took back was horrible.

We took back players who are of no use to us. 2 new SF -Corey Brewer can't shoot the 3 nor rebound and has a $5 QO for next year; and we also got our old buddy Renaldo Balkman who can't shoot and has 2 years left on his contract after this year. Walsh's first player move when he took over as GM was to fire Isiah and trade Balkman to Denver for a 2nd round pick. The only person who wants Balkman is the guy who drafted him - Isiah.

I cannot disagree with your position any more than I do

Well then you are severely overrating the type of player Carmelo Anthony is.

heh. compare Randolph's CV to Melo's

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmelo_Anthony
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zach_Randolph

Melo's career accomplishments are far and significantly better than Zach's

Ah man, I better be able to use Wiki in the future to determine a player's impact on a franchise. Innovative.

I don't think NYK actually wants Balkman. Nugs just wanted to dump whatever extraneous contracts they could to save as much money as possible. Cheaper to dump Balk on the Knicks than waive him to recieve all the new players. Same with Carter and Williams.

Was hoping we might get Melvin Ely in this. He's a capable backup C>

All right. if you're going to be smart, the reason I think you don't have a clue is because he was in 4 All Star games, the 2002-03 Final Four Most Outstanding Player, a four time All NBA, 55th in All Time PER, and has a 59% chance at the Hall of Fame according to basketballreference.com

but, hey, fall back into form and be a sour little puss when someone disagrees with you. now that was innovative

we gave up to much no matter how good melo is, or how happy you are..

And if we don't start winning off the jump, they will be screaming blood murder for MDA's head

Your points have nothing to do with me commenting on "Carmelo is one step above Zach Randolph. Nothing more." That's what this is about.

But to your points, I believe the Knicks got Melo cheaper than Boston got KG for and the Heat got Shaq for. I remember Kobe didn't get traded to Chicago because they had to keep Luol Deng because he may become a star. I don't think anyone will regret this when Donnie finishes construction. By 2012, this team is going to be pretty darn good

AlexKennedyNBA The Knicks got Carmelo, but there's still the chance that Walsh walks in April. He's not happy with Dolan and this process frustrated him.

Chris_Broussard Is Isiah running NYK? No. Did Isiah have a lot to do with Melo getting to NYK? Yes.

FisolaNYDN James Dolan, with Isiah advising him, pulled the trigger. Great that the Knicks got Melo and too bad Donnie will be leaving

FisolaNYDN There is a reason why pint-sized bloggers think Isiah had nothing to with this trade. Those same naïve children still believe in Santa Claus

News outlets forgot to mention Isiah Thomas was traded back to the Knicks in this deal , goodbye Donnie and yes if this team doesn't win you can add Mike Dantoni to the chopping block cause now he has no excuse.

This dude is from Hoopsworld, so who knows how connected he is:

AlexKennedyNBA One source close to Walsh said that the situation with Dolan along with Denver's ridiculous negotiations had Walsh saying, "I'm done."

yeah, that does suck. I hope Donnie rides it out though. I know its a difficult situation for him but shoot. The Knicks keep their best young player and get an ASG starter. I am happy, all things considered.

Isola is an angry man tonight and seems to think Donnie was def. pushed out on this:

FisolaNYDN Wonder what the deal would have looked like if Donnie Walsh were in charge of the negotiations

I know the stink of Isiah is back in the air at the Garden. I can smell it.

But somehow I can't help but root for my orange and blue. Anything horrible that happens, I usually find a way to rationalize it.

I hope Donnie and Mike stay. I hope Dolan realizes THEY are the reasons for the resurgence, not some bull**** Isiah phone call or whatever. Sadly, I know better.

Here's hoping at least the basketball on the court is fun to watch.

I'm happy the deal got done but Isiah taking the place of the guy who cleaned up his mess, and ran cover for him, would be too much.
If Warkentien took his place and Isiah stayed in the shadows, I could live with that but not with the rat back in charge.

it's no secret that I am happy Melo is here. But I have said before I won't support the team in any way if Isiah is given the reigns. As long as Donnie is titled as being in charge, he can influence some sanity and some restraint. I think the Knicks gave up a ton and Donnie himself would've gotten less. But could you imagine all the excess salary Isiah would've assumed to get Melo?

Seems like Warkentien might still be working for Denver based on how we were fleeced.

So, is Isiah Thomas still not running the franchise?
