Moz, in year 2012/13, has his projected salary go DOWN from previous year, so that's a least forward thinking by Donnie.

It would be total genius if Donnie build in a team/player option into Amare and Melo's contract in 2013 so that they could both opt out and then have 3 max guys re-sign all in one transaction at lower prices. But that is prob too much to hope for.

Imagine if whatever team Randolph is going to for the 1st rounder (Portland, Indiana??) now trys to Shanghai us in that deal for more than just Randolph??? Wow, would I go nuts!!

AR, $3M and Curry would go to Twolves for low level pick back. that's how Denver save a boatload of luxary money. This is prob already set in stone.

You gotta wait and see what the CBA will look like.. It might favor the knicks in adding Deron or Chris P.

That's a pretty fair deal, given the situation.. Tough to see some of those guys go but it is Carmelo

In order to get, you have to give. Some of you guys on ultimateknicks are killing me big time. GALLO? c'mon now.. If he is gone and knicks are winning, he'll be completely forgotton.. So will chandler and felton..

You talking about a superstar in MElo. You dont get this chance quite often. It happens once in a blue moon. If you have a chance to get him, you get him. those other guys can be replaced. They're role players. Chandler, Felton and especially Gallo will never be superstars in this league..

The Future. GO KNICKS!

I was hoping the nets swoop in and make a deal and save the knicks future.. but hey, time for me to start watching nuggets games, with gallo and if they keep chandler, they will have a good young team, that will be very interesting in a year or two.. if anything, denver now becomes my second favorite team... over Atlanta...

dumb ass trade if this goes down.. I am convinced.. REBUILDING WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN NY!! EVER!!

Too much. The Russian made us over spend. He is In a hot tub with 10 supermodels and a white persian cat laughing his ass off.

He got Dolan to blow off. Melo is good but this is like trading Parker and Manu for in prime McGrady. Wouldn't do it. Dolan got involved. Walsh is home shaking his head. Wonder what if he even wants this.

Sober if all true.

I know you are emotional right now, and Gallo is perhaps your fav player and it styings to lose him, but explain why this is a bad deal? We are trading Gallo a good but inconsistant 22 yr old, Chandler who walks anyway, and swapping Felt for a more playoff experienced player in Billups. It seems as if we Knick fans wanted to rape the Nuggs and get an allstar for fodder. But what about the Nuggs fan base? You have to give to get and I think this is a fair deal. Melo is by far the best player in this trade.

Are you seriously comparing Chandler and Gallo to Manu and Parker?

REALLY? When we signed Amar'e we knew that his shelf life was limited. He's 28 and we just don't know how long he's got. I like to be optimistic, but we just don't know. Therefore, I can fully understand the Knicks saying "why wait". You add 26 yr old Melo who is READY NOW! You go to war with that and whatever you can add next year and there's an instant contender in NYC. That was always the original plan. 2 Superstars. We still would have enough talent left to put a good team on the court. Keeping Fields is a big key in this. He's that glue guy we need. Melo for Chan and Gallo is fair. Besides we'll still be a young team. This isn't the Celtics when they added KG and Allen. This is a solid 5 or more year run.

BTW, I believe we are about the same age, so we have seen lots Knick players moved. This is no reason to give up on your team. Rod Strickland was/is one of my alltime fav's and I was very upset when we traded the 22 yr old for an old washed up Mo Cheeks, but I still rooted for the blue and orange. Hated that we let Bernard King walk after two years of rehabing his knee to get back on the court. Didn't like that we let X man walk away after a good season, but still wore my Knicks jersy with pride. I know your upset right now, (Eventhough no trade has been announced so this could be all for naught), but time heals.

X-Man walked away from the Knicks without fielding an offer. It was his agent that got the order from Jordan to get rid of him from the Knicks.

Agree, especially after the Knicks win and Melo has a 40 point game next to Amar'e scoring 30 and Billups 18 and 12 assists!!! This team is gonna be really good and we as fans are going to love watching them. I love Gallo and hope he has a great career, but i've loved the Knicks my whole life and will always bleed orange and blue. I needed to see this kind of thing happen and I can't wait for this to be confirmed.

Man, I feel ya. Gallo's probably my favorite player right now. I was hoping we'd get the trade done and have Gallo as our 3rd scorer with Melo/STAT, and watch him develop into that 3rd star. But when it comes down to it, I don't know if you can let Gallo be the deal breaker when he and Melo play the same position. Fortunately we'd still have Fields in the lineup.

Still not convinced this is the deal until I see the press conference. We have 6 more days until the deadline? Rumors only going to get worse.
