Exactly, and I mean EXACTLY how I feel bro..Well said..Felton (for the chemistry reason you mentioned and the age factor) and Fields are KEEPERS 100% as in OFF THE TABLE (esp if we're really the only suitor left in this thing)...Anyone else they can have (beside Amar'e of course)..I'm not making this deal to all of a sudden have a PG problem next year if we choose to exercise that buyout option on Billups to save $10M (which I could definitely see the Knicks doing)....After the smoke clears on this deal I'm gonna need to know I'm GOOD at the 4, 3, 2 & 1..Then all I have to do is add a C (don't think Mozgov is the answer, they can have him--he'd make a nice sweetner anyway PLUS I think we can add a better center in this summer's draft), maybe another big & another wing (I'd be OK with adding D-League all-stars Jeff Adrien & Othyus Jeffers RIGHT NOW and then signing them to smart deals for the foreseeable future, deals that fit into our salary structure----and if we can't make that commitment right now for whatever reason, get them for the rest of the year anyway and promise to bring them to training camp next season with a strong chance to make the club), a backup PG upgrade over TD if one ever presents itself (if not, I'm actually OK with TD as the backup point despite his drawbacks) and maybe another shooter (I'd look to grab 6'6" Ohio State swingman Jon Diebler either with a 2nd rounder we decide to purchase or for nothing after the draft if he goes undrafted---I think this dude might be the best shooter in the college game today. His deadeye shooting touch would help cover the loss of Gallinari's perimeter offense).
I say hold firm on the offer that excludes this Felton/Billups swap and Landry Fields..Sweeten it up in other ways --- Mozgov, the rights to Jerome Jordan, $3M in cash, 2014 1st rounder, 2016 first rounder, 2nd round picks, whatever, just devise a way of keeping Ray and Landry the hell outta this!! We're trying to build a contender here..Not grab one good piece and then all of a sudden start looking for an entire new backcourt..Come on..
Welcome to the board btw Jon..
