![]() Not sure Melo will take too kindly to the Nets re-entering the mix. I remember Melo saying he would be 'shocked if a guy like Prokhorov would go back on his word.' Melo was adament about the Nets not jumping back. Would be intereste to see what Melo says about these latests rumors.

![]() Best possible scenario for us: DEN gets too greedy with their demands, we're forced to walk away from the deal, Melo understands and doesn't get too upset (STAT might have to work some magic here to convey the message) and then he agrees to sign with us in the offseason where we'd only have to let Chandler walk to make the room. We then retain the rest of the core (Gallo, Fields, Felton etc..). How plausible do you guys this this scenario is, honestly?

![]() Melo will probably make it crystal clear that he doesn't want the Nets. I mean after they make the deal what is he gonna be playing with? If i'm Melo, no way they send me to the Nets, when I can play with my boy STAT in NYC! Why, so I can lose with "NoBounds" Lopez and who knows what's left? You might as well have Prokhorov take you to Siberia.

Respect for the Nets & Nuggets?? I guess so, but come on already--my man really has sent a ton of mixed messages lately..Dude should come out and make his intentions known by now in an effort to get this thing done..And make it easier on us in the process (he's already on record as saying he doesn't want to go to a team that has to give up everything in order to get him)..I guess it's a rep thing and he doesn't wanna come out looking like a complete D-Bag a-la LeBum..He doesn't have to even go public with it --- if he really wants NY, go to DEN management and lay the law down behind the scenes..Then get word to Amar'e and let him know what the score is and tell him to keep it quiet for the time being other than relaying the message to Donnie and co. of course. Tampering?? Perhaps. You know what though? Who cares, honestly..Amar'e & Melo aren't allowed to talk to one another??? Good luck trying to enforce that...It's behind the scenes conversation like this that got the Miami Heat built and you know what? Whatever man..Good for them..It would certainly put an end to all this ridiculous haggling & posturing on DEN's part. The Knicks are looking to make a deal in good faith here. It's DEN that unwilling to do so apparently and it's getting old.. A good part of me would now love to see DEN screw this up and get burned in the end where he signs with us in the offseason and they get NADA!! It's coming down to crunch time..I think it's time for Melo to start using his leverage a little more.. |

IMO the message he's sending is "I wanna be a Knick, but I also want to sign that extension this year, so I'm gonna do my part & refuse to sign any extensions with any other team but come on Knicks, you gotta do your part & get this deal done." ![]() At the end of the day Carmelo Anthony is going to accept a trade to anyone who will give him that extension. Whether that be New Jersey or New York or staying in Denver, he will sign that extension. He wants the money more than anything else.
If he wanted New York he could have said it already. He didn't demand it to his team, which means he isn't as serious about that as he is about his $65 million extension. If Denver wants to ask for the sun and the moon in negotiations then they can go ahead and make a trade with the Nets, enjoy their compensation and Carmelo can enjoy rotting in the swamps of New Jersey with Brook Lopez for a few years before rotting away in Brooklyn for the rest of his career. That's the way he wants it, after all. If he wanted it any other way he would have already said it. "Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us." - Earl Nightingale

Whether that be New Jersey or New York or staying in Denver, he will sign that extension. He wants the money more than anything else. i disagree. i think he knows the kroenkes do not want to send him to his team of choice, so he's being quiet about the knicks stuff. proof is in the pudding, obviously, if he signs somewhere else, then he wasn't serious. but it's not like he can just say "trade me to the knicks" and the nuggets will be like, "oh, okay! the knicks! sure!" this is a delicate situation - the nuggets don't have a ton of leverage in some ways, but in some ways they hold all the cards. if they're intent on waiting this out to get a steal of a deal, melo can walk... but they certainly don't have to trade him. it's a game of chicken, just like it was back in november. we'll see who blinks first. mercifully only a week to go - though i bet this time a week from now, we still don't know where he'll be going. my personal opinion is that this goes right up to the last minute and denver doesn't trade him. ¿ △ ?

![]() They guys want to win
They also want to get paid NY will earn Melo more off the court then on Melo's Jersey even with all the hype surrounding him is not top 5 selling Jersey Last year he wasn't top 10 Allen Iverson sold more Jerseys Point is if Melo needs an extra 3 million a year from Denver or The Swap then he losses ALL THESE RUMORS ARE PLOYS to get Knicks to give up more so that Melo can sign extension I want Melo ASAP but not at the cost of guttting team KNICKS on the way UP!!!

![]() umynot wrote:They guys want to win Papabear Says I just saw an interview with Carmelo on Espn and he was talking like he never said that he wanted to go to the Knicks. Look we are in a bad spot. If we gut the team we will have Carmelo but no championship team. The Nets are going to get Carmelo. Carmelo looked like he was begging the Nets to get back into the race. If this is the way Carmelo is talking we don't have a chance. Carmelo wants that money and Denvers victory will be not letting Carmelo come to the Knicks. With Amare we will be a good team but we will never win a Championship. You can bank on it. Carmelo ain't leaving that money on the table. Look what I would call a victory will be getting rid of D'Antoni. He will fight to not trade Gallo for Carmelo. Papabear
