I agree Felton shoots a little too much. But he's been better then I expected.

He's got a touch job, this is young team and has not played together for a long time. He's established a good working relationship with Amare. I think he just needs to have a little more confidence in everyone not named Amare. If we're going to fail I'd rather fail getting everyone involved then with Felton trying to take over the game.

I'd give him time to work it out. He's far from this teams biggest problem.

We had a crappy, dispiriting loss. Felton looked terrible. The team looked terrible, so Felton and deserve some blame, no doubt. But that's a far cry from "Blow it up again. We suck. The experiment failed."

We've got a flawed team w/ a very weak bench. We're very young. But we're definitely moving in the right direction and have done more than I would have expected at this stage of the season. Felton has heart, cojones and, exactly as Marv said, is a 2nd tier PG. He's a borderline all star being paid like a back-up center and we're saying he's our biggest problem and has got to go?

MDA's teams require a high level of game IQ at all positions and responsible players that know how to work together as a unit, as one. It's beautiful when it's working, but it can get really ugly if a piece is not cooperative.

Felton goes Marbury too often, he's not looking for the team, he looks for himself way too much at the expense of the system.

Our weakest link is at our most important position.

Forget Melo, we have guys that can drop the buckets.

Please, PLEASE get us a level-headed, selfless point to lead this team. I'm certain MDA and Walsh know this already and are working to fix the situation, either at the deadline or at the end of the season. Felton is a good stopgap but he's from here to the moon away from being the guy we really need.

So basically after every loss we have to hear we need to change the team now and after every win we hear how great our players are. Knicks are what they are.......a crappy team last year that has risen to a lower tier playoff team this year. There will be ups and downs. Stay the course Donnie...this clown would rather have a reactionary Isiah back at the helm tinkering to add mismatched parts for shock value.

A couple of weeks ago Felton was a potential all star and now he's not working out? Come on guys, you can't be THAT fickle. He is struggling but he is not the only reason we haven't been winning. This is most likely a .500 team, we all knew that.

Do we need another PG? Sure, we have a lot of needs on this roster.

we'd be calling for Nash's head everytime the opposing pg lights him up.

You think our defense is bad now...adding Nash.....

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

NY gets:
Carmelo Anthony
Chauncy Billups

Denver gets:
Eddy Curry
Kelena Azubuike
Wilson Chandler
Ronny Turiaf
Raymond Felton
Anthony Randolph

Why NY does it:
NYK would pick up the consistent offensive scoring threat that they need and a savvy veteran point guard to hold them over until 2012 when Deron and Chris Paul are available. The rest of the season still exists to allow Amare, Melo, Gallo and Billups mesh and make a serious playoff run.

Why Denver does it:
First of all, they save a TON of cash with this deal. If my math holds up, they could have as much as 20 million off the books for next season with this deal to pick up players. Of all those players dealt, only Randolph and Felton are guaranteed to be on the books. Plus, those two are both serviceable players that could probably step into a line up and play without a problem. The rest of the players, when healthy, can step up and play for the remainder of the season until Denver decides where they want to go as a team.

I like Felton, I think he's done a great job.

He needs a real backup, though. The minutes are clearly wearing on him.

Having a legit second option would really help - the team was much better when Wilson was clicking and not worried about Melo rumors.

Screw that, we keep at least Turiaf or AR. We can't gut our entire roster we'd have no players left!!
And Mr. Big Shot is getting oooollldd!!

If Billups came here with no real backup, he would breakdown quicker than Felton has.

Billups has Lawson backing him up in Denver. Lawson often plays 20mpg, sometimes alongside Chauncey, but he often gives Chauncey at least 15 minutes a night of good rest.

We need a backup - even shaving 3 minutes per night off of Felton's load would make him far more effective.

Felton has a problem keeping up with quick guards too. It doesn't help that we insist on switching on EVERY pick. So Felton's stuck in a mis-match with bigger guys and our fowards are scrambling.

Say What?

orangeblob - are you proposing waiting until 2012 for Russell Westbrook?

If not him, then please cite who you had in mind.

This ain't fantasy.

I asked the same thing and am still waiting!

Billups. Replace Felton with Mr. Big Shot and let Gallo be point forward. Gallo creating or initiating the offense from the top of the key with Amare and Melo in the post and Billups waiting for open 3s is just too sweet.

Honestly, is it really Felton's fault that he *HAS* to be the team's second option? Who the hell does Felton have to set the table for? People keep skewering him--who the hell has stepped up to get a better shot than Felton in SSOL????? This is getting effing ridiculous.

people are complaining about a 17 / 9 / 4 / 2 PG & they think Timo freakin' Mozgov is the answer to our bigman woes... go figure

The guy is playing for a payday, like Al Harrington was, so his main motivation is not the Knicks, but himself. The Knicks are second to him. And that's a huge problem for the team.

I see what you see out on the court, but interpret it differently. I specifically don't think Felton is like Harrington playing for a contract, even though he is not a pass first kind of a point guard.

1) He is incredibly competitive and when the opposing point guard scores, Felton feels the need to respond to the "personal" challenge.
2) Before the "minutes" wore him down, Felton sincerely believed that he was a clutch player and with his "heart" he definitely took shots in big spots. I admit that it may look similar to someone playing for a contract. But I think Raymond is a "team first" player and the Knicks winning really is important to him.

I do think he loves playing with the Knicks in general and Amare particularly. If Mike told him that he wanted his PG to cut down his scoring and do more passing, I think Raymond Felton could make that change.

Aye, as long as we see the same thing on the court.

As far as the interpretation, I go with my instincts here.

We all had instincts once, a long time ago, before they were battered by layers of masochistic abstractions.

Time will tell, as it always does.
