Remember the 50-55 win posts? lol

I was a little more optimistic a month or so ago, but i will stick to my original prediction of 43-39. Considering where we are at now, and the schedule we have endured the last month, we should be right there or better at the end of the season. We still are in great position to have a 45-win season, which all of us should be very happy with.

I think there is cause for concern.

i love how you want to throw out the results of 29% of their games this year because they don’t match up with your agenda.

Everything is great since 12/12. The Knicks beat Miami and won 8 other times.

a lot of ups and downs over the course of the season. as i recall the majority of posters on this site predicted 41-45 wins on the year. currently we're on pace for 42. when we were in a winning streak we were on pace for 52. when we were in an early losing streak we were on pace for 22.

the losses suck and the winnable losses like last night suck particularly bad. being in a negative streak like we are right now is no fun. parsing the numbers to try to claim that we're the same team we have been for the last 2 years is - pardon me - stupid.

You're rigth. I think I am pretty irked that D'Antoni didn't come out and defend Walsh when he had the chance and I am reacting a bit.

Seems that Walsh is taking care of Walsh and I see nothing that MDA said that would indicate kicking him under the bus.

For all we know they might not even like each other.

A neutral stance in public is the proper response.

I disagree about D'Antoni's response. Walsh has shielded and protected D'Antoni from the media and has gotten rid of any player that troubles or bothers D'Antoni in anyway. He always sticks up for D'Antoni I think that D'Antoni could have made a stronger statement. I don't think D'Antoni lasts long without Walsh.

I don't see how it's so impossible for this team to again go on a win streak at some point. It's a streaky team. We don't know how the team is gonna play the rest of the way, but they've still got a shot to do better than .500.

Papabear Says

I think that the owners feel that they gave up a lot to get Randolph and night after night no defense improvements and the way Mike D game plan is going will burn out Amare before the playoffs. I believe that Walsh and Mike D will be gone. The rumor is that management asked Mike D to play Anthony a little more and Mike D totally avoided management.

hey... look at it this way. If you take out the 24 losses the Knicks are 25-0

Beating the Nuggets, OKC, Bulls 2x, Spurs, Heat... Knicks have their share of quality wins. I said 45 wins and am sticking to it. Knicks are VERY young and finding the line between developement and consistancy is always the big challenge.

If you notice a downward trend your right. Chandler, Amare, Felton all nursing nagging injuries (hmmm your top 3 scorers). Lets get healthy and these wins will start coming in again. Knicks arent good enough to play 600 basketball with key guys playing at 75%

They have lost 9 of their last 12 games. Not sure how to look at that but it is pretty disappointing.

There's no doubt we're improved. The only legitimate debates I see are (a) whether we're truly building a title-contending team and (b) whether that--as opposed to just building a good, enjoyable team--should even be the goal anyway.

and is there any other reason aside from rebounding for that? We are too small and unskilled bigs that are willing to follow the ball and crash the glass destroy us. Knicks first line of D is ok... the 2nd line is non existant. Walsh has said it... we need an enforcer. IS that coming from within? Trade? Next year?

Also we are not healthy... is losing 9 of 12 a sign that teams have figured us out or does it have to do with Felton (high ankle sprain), Gallo (knee), Chandler (calf), Amare (not practicing, knee), Douglas (shoulder) ALL are playing at well below 100%?

I'm not making excuses... Knicks have not been playing well, but saying that they are just not a good team seems a bit of an oversimplification no?

I think the goal should be a championship but I for one will take the time to enjoy having a team that doesn't suck big fat donkey dong
