It was a bad joke Memphis loved Crittenton enough to take him in the Pau Gasol trade they made with the Lakers a few years back. Maybe Javaris could work some of that same magic for us if we build his value up a little.

Williams, 35, hopes to latch on with another team. "This is a buyout that's been discussed for some time," said Williams' agent, Dan Tobin. "It's mutually beneficial. They'll have three quality point guards instead of four and it'll give him an opportunity to play elsewhere when that opportunity presents itself. He's not retiring. Free-agent point guard Jason Williams has agreed in principle to sign with the Grizzlies, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.Barring an unforeseen development, the 35-year-old will join the team by Monday.

Williams informed Griz management of his decision Wednesday night while the team played on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

a capable point guard who could run the offense while felton gets 10-15 minutes off per night...

look, duhon would be a perfect backup here. duhon is a good backup, just not a starter.

we are nowhere near the magic's level yet - it's not like we should be insulted to look at their backups.

he's obviously not a long-term solution. but as a solution to keep ray fresh for a playoff push? i thought it would be a decent move.

instead we have mason and rautins wasting space on the bench.
