If that is our final offer we wont be getting Carmelo.

If Carmelo leaves Denver has cap space to sign Chandler this summer anyway. Deal sucks for Denver. They'd be better off letting him expire.

No because then they won't get draft picks. However, I'm surprised the Knics made an offer this strong to start out with. Chandler, Fields, Curry, Draft pick is good. If they wouldn't accept all of that plus AR or a pick from an AR trade then they have their heads up their ass.

I could see them not wanting Chandler since he's up fr a raise, but I'm pretty sure we'd swap Gallo in the deal.

They are getting a draft pick and fields in addition to chandler which is better than just signing chandler alone.

Huh? Chandler > Fields, Chandler, 1st round pick?

Carmelo for another 42 games, Possible Playoff Revenue, and Chandler in the summer > Fields, Chandler, 1st round pick(LATE first rounder)

Maybe from a financial standpoint, but no where close long term. Chandler in the summer is no where close to a guarantee.

You think Denver wants to pay Chandler big bucks this summer to win at best 20 games next year? Come on now. Chandler is a supporting piece on a winning team.

You are making less sense as this goes on. You are the one saying Denver could sign Chandler with their cap space.

IF Denver wants Chandler they can sign him in the summer. IF they do not they wont. I dont see what doesnt make sense.

Knicks trying to pawn off spare parts that they'd lose in the summer anyway is not good value for Denver. Please consider what Denver is losing with half the season left to play. Denver isn't playing with monopoly money.

so instead of getting something tangible for Melo, they should hold tight and go the route of Toronto and Cleveland? And BTW, they would also be getting salary cap relief.

My offer would be Gallo, Curry, and a 2nd round pick. I'm sure they wouldn't accept it though.

Denver said no because that was our first offer. They will try to get more from us or will try to get us to take back Al Harrington and his ridiculous 5 year offer (a BIG No to that) or Balkman and his 2 additional years (reasonable $ but no to Balkman.)

Offering Fields is a big concession from us. He is in the running for ROY. If this is true then we need to keep Walker at the 2.
Chandler needs to go in the trade as he and Melo are similar players and both play SF.

Still a month til trade deadline so Denver is in no rush. We are the ones more in need of making the trade soon.

If Fields is in the running then he is definitely wheezing in the back behind Griffin.

Say NO to Anderson - He is hurt + 32 years old + signed for an additional 3 years after this year. I'd keep Turiof over him.

The player who could be available is Nene as he has a player option for next year. He may want to opt out or be traded because there won't be much of a team next year in Denver. If Melo is traded, and Billups isn't re-signed (Team option at $14.2 mil which I don't think Denver will do); and KMart is an expiring and he is old and hurt. So Nene might want to play for a contending team?

I think Denver is going to dump salaries if they do a trade with the Knicks. They are looking out for themselves and along with Harrington, Anderson and Balk have the worst contracts on the roster.
I just hope Walsh doesn't get desperate like he did last year with the McGrady trade.
