C'mon Mac, what are the probabilities Kandi with his weight will return to some kind of form after the injury.....maybe never

Brown is developing well and in a year or two will surpass kandi.
O'Neal is at/nearing his potential with added future growth. The difference is, O'Neal, and Brown, develop their ultimatums on the court.

I rather have Keon Clark or Wang Zhizhi, at least if things don't work out, I won't be disappointed

it may seem like a no-brainer but i wouldn't do it.

let me put it to you this way, kandi man is LAZY and ALWAYS hurt. would that be better than a center that at least works hard and can contribute from time to time? especially since he's a good person to have in the locker room for the younger guys. if we make the playoffs, deke will be very useful (even for 5-10 min stretches).

i wouldn't do it b/c kandi man is another bum who'll never live up to his potential b/c of injuries and b/c of his LAZY attitude.

Thanks for keeping it real djsunyc

One of most overrated players of the late 90's. All the hype you hear on a number one draft pick that fails to measure up when experts label players with Athleticism and Upside makes our man kandi no lion king....more like lion dung.

And to top the mediocrity mongers, he was giving the CClipps an ultimatum which I thought won him the player joke of the year

Just when Zeke was trying to clean up Knicks act, Martin comes up with this Kandi coated pick. Nice going pal

Deke has way too much class to be traded for Kandi, period

and I suppose you think that Kwame Brown is just as lazy? These people take time to develope. (Jermaine O'Neal) Kwame and Olowokandi will both be 20/10's soon. I read a pre-season article on 'Kandi and it shows him as anything but lazy. He's was supposed to have been getting more touches in the Clippers offense, but he got injured. His size/rebounding/ and post game is already there.

difference is, brown and jo came into the league as teenagers. kwame has been slow to develop but he hasn't been hurt and his athleticism surpasses kandiman BIG TIME. kandi has show a poor attitude since he's been in the league and to top it off has been hurt way too often. he basically said he was leaving the clips last season and HE PLAYED LIKE CRAP. who plays like crap in their contract year?

...its very possible, kandi, believing he was going to sign a big contract, and did'nt, took a lot of excitement and drive out of his own game.

Brown had far too many obstacles to overcome compared to kandi. In a few more years Brown will be one of the premier centers in the NBA at less than 25 years old.

Kandi will be approaching 30 next year, maybe 2 years max of acceptable play some team may be willing to trade for.

If we trade mutumbo for kandi are we giving up on this season because i don't think hell be back until next season.( better yet how will the talks go between steph and kandi about the dunk amare put on him from stephs assist lol) no but seriously getting kandi would be a steal if can he run up and down faster than mt mutumbo. maybe score a little and block and occcasional shot. i would feel better with a chance of having a young center than one that might run the floor slower than ewing.lol

Armondaone, how do think Amare got rookie of the year? all up in kandi's grill. That had to been dunk of the year, postas will say spree's dunk was better, but I disagree. Amare's dunk had so much authority on Kandi, fear factor kept kandi from retaliating

Yeah in a heartbeat but who would Minnesota include??? It wouldn't work under the salary cap. Minny would have to add someone else..

No, both signed for the MLE. Ask s3231 to do a realgm trade and he will show you that it works.

New York trades: C Dikembe Mutombo (6.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 24.5 minutes)
New York receives: C Michael Olowokandi (6.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 21.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +0.3 ppg, -3.2 rpg, and -0.1 apg.

Minnesota trades: C Michael Olowokandi (6.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 21.0 minutes)
Minnesota receives: C Dikembe Mutombo (6.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 47 games)
Change in team outlook: -0.3 ppg, +3.2 rpg, and +0.1 apg.

TRADE DECLINED
Due to Minnesota and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did not happen here (only Minnesota met the condition). This trade does not satisfy the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I already said earlier on in this thread that Deke for Kandi would not work straight up, I also said that you either need Doleac or Frankie in the deal to make it work.

dude, i'm sorry but too much class to be traded for kandi? that is laughable. you may as well say herb williams is too classy to trade him as he is now for kandi. whats that have to do with anything?mutumbo is washed up, he already was slow and now he is completely stationary-ANYTHING you can get for him is a plus.

It seemed like after the dunk kandi became injuried and his free agency value went down. Amare took his manhood. lol

I don't really care for the Kandi man, I rather hold onto Deke. The Kandi man does have a lazy attitude.

ok so you'd rather have deke who has ZERO mobility. call it lazy, or call it stuck in cement, he can't move, he is like brittle wood out there, dump him asap along with kt.

never been too hot on kandi(so to speak)due to the fact as was stated earlier, he's lazy. not to mention the fact that he seems to lack good basketball i.q.
on the other hand, he is younger and is more of an offensive threat. kandi can actually move his feet. i'd do it with a smirk on my face.

Deke is more productive and experienced than a clumsy fragile Kandi man. Deke just had 4 blocks in the boston game. Kandi probably would block his own shot.

neither really fit in our current system but Kandi's had one half of a great year and the rest of his 6 years in the NBA have been pretty lousy. I mean right now Doleac is a better player. Kandi is always hurt and just isnt that good over any stretch.
