my God, we're talking about a 6'8" 230 lb superstar player who averages 24 & 8 & can post up high or low, score from long distance & in transition& you got guys talking about Carl Landry as if he's a better option... it's insanity.

Don't be silly. We're better off keeping Landry Fields, who is a future Shane Battier.

he's nothing like battier at all. you people listen to clyde and breen too much.

Turiaf is not a reliable player you base your franchise on--even for 20 minutes. He cannot stay healthy and hes very inconsistent. What good is it if you have a guy who can give you 30 good games a year when you play 82?

Amen.
Basically, we have a great core of a team which can now make the playoffs. An incredible improvement over the past decade. To get to a championship level, we need a few more pieces, but need to get them while still holding on to our basic core. So, IMO, Melo is the first priority if we can get him at a reasonable price. Then also a defensive, shot-blocking/rebounding center. Then a back-up PF. Especially if he could also backup at C.

We also have to be realistic and discuss those players that are available, or who could be had at a reasonable price. We know Melo is available. He fits our second superstar need. And we know that right now, one of the 2, either Carl Landry or Dalembert is available. (maybe both??) Either one would help us fill a need. But we can't go for either of them until the Melo situation is finalized. As TMS has emphatically stated numerous times, we can't pass on a Superstar like Melo....I agree, as long as it is a reasonable deal and we can maintain a lot of our core group.

Also, OJ Mayo is available, and he may be useful in a 3 team trade.

LA Clippers say they would like a SF for Chris Kaman. Maybe Danilo Gallinari, Eddy Curry and a future 1st from the Anthony Randolph trade could be enough. If he's healthy, Kaman is by far our best option at C.

He's a solid option but that is a lot to give up. I would consider Curry and AR for him straight up.

u make a trade for Kaman & you take yourself out of the running for Melo as a FA... so then the leverage goes back to Denver & Melo has no real alternatives but to accept a trade to NJ

If we Are looking for projects that may not know their role, takes I'll advised shots and MAY help us in the playoffs, then I trust our current roster and future flexibility.

These descriptions of dalembert can just as easily be applied to Anthony Randolph at a deeper discount.

The description of kaman can easily be the $4 mill a year turiaf.

Melo or bust

what we need to help Amare is a star who can take attention away from him in the post... this is a small example of what you might see if you added Melo to this team
