BAD TRADE FOR KNICKS: Melo for Chandler/Fields/Curry/2 #1 picks(AR Traded)
FAIR TRADE FOR KNICKS: Melo for Gallo/Fields/Curry/1st Rd Pick 2014/2nd RD Pick
ROBBERY FOR KNICKS TRADE: Melo for Curry/Mason/Azabuike/1st Rd Pick 2014/2nd RD Pick

Sheridan is OFF his meds if he thinks the FAIR trade is a fair trade. It might be a fair trade without the current circumstances but it is a horrible trade now. Knicks hold all the cards. The best offer the godfather is offering Denver is Curry/AR or 1st rounder/Azabuike. Take it or leave it.

Don't want to burn any bridges here. A fair trade should be fair, like this one:

Melo to NYK.
Curry, Gallo, AR/1st, 2014 1st, Buke, $3mil to Denver.

Considering that the Nuggs have NO leverage, I think this trade is the absolute BEST Donnie Walnuts can/should offer. If they wait until the deadline, take out Buke and say "final offer".

Hopefully, Denver blinks and we sign Melo this summer, which was always Plan A.

i agree w/that offer... i think that's probably the one DW is going to hold out for... we're looking at losing either Wilson or Gallo if we wait for Melo to sign w/us as a FA anyway... an offer of Curry & AR won't even get a response from Denver, they mine as well let him leave for nothing & get the salary exception.

It's sad, but it wont be a as bad an idea to make that move. Yet, then where is our trade flexibility for a center?

dunno what the CBA situation will be... if they do away w/the MLE then we're definitely gonna be limited this summer... can't really say for sure either way what our flexibility would be until they announce the conditions of the new CBA... another trade might be our only option to get a quality C, but at least you know you have a better asset for your team going forward by making this deal.

Exactly, you get the star players first, then fill in the blanks later.

Do Chandler AR TD Walker and Curry 3 million and picks

I also believe that the Knicks know Gallo will probably give them a break in the future when this contract is up, even if he ups his $$ value over the next few years through good play.

Chandler has also said he is not interested in going to Denver. Is that a ploy to get more $$ in a S&T in a Denver trade, or does he want to resign with the Knicks (maybe at an non-crazy amount)?

If I'm Denver, and Chandler is unwilling to do the S&T, I want Gallo AND Fields, as well as a #1. If, as you say, Gallo will chose to go back to Italy rather than play in Denver, their trade with the Knicks is limited even more.

Personally, I want to keep Gallo, Chandler, Fields, and Williams, and if we are going to overspend on any single new player, I (like others, and maybe even Walsh) say we go after a solid center, and with any extra $$ look for another SG/PG/combo guard.

Between Curry, Azubuike, and Mason, we lose about $16M in contracts next year, and have flexibility with Williams and Walker. We could also lose Turiaf's $4.1M if he chooses to opt out (hope he does not).

I just don't want to give up any two from Gallo/Chandler/Fields group, and remember, we also would be trading AR for a #1, so he would be gone, too.

A maxed Melo traded for Fields and Gallo also means that we have fewer options for picking up filler, and what if the new CBA limits certain options for teams?

I still don't understand why teams don't circumvent the cap by signing someone like Chandler to a low-ball deal and then giving him cash money under the table. Is it really that difficult to conceal?

That way, we can sign Chandler, Gallo, and have Melo.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.
