Rookie - offering Boateng as a reasonable, low risk option is not about playing time or the rotation.

Boateng provides low cost insurance in the event Turiaf goes brittle. A healthy third center would be a good thing.

not disagreeing that we could use a 3rd center for insurance...just hoping we can do better. We have approx. 14.5M in expiring baggage wearing suits in Az and curry...and some experience collecting dust in mason....i would hope you could 'rent' some depth with that after the Melo drama plays out

Rookie - don't believe the hype. there is no Melo drama. It is a speculative story manufactured to fill column space. The Answer Man is bored with the endless Carmelo parade. Meanwhile, Ray Ray is running the show to perfection.

The Knicks are managing just fine without LaLa seated courtside.

Shawne Williams is slowly adding new features to his game as he gains confidence. His on court demeanor is New York all the way. Tough on defense and does not back down when challenged. His response to the Artest choke was perfect and under control.

Is there anything that Landry Fields cannot do?

Ronny Turiaf may have hidden his injured leg better than some reporters with courtside seats and all access passes were willing to investigate

Think about it.

it's great to appreciate what we've got. but it shouldn’t preclude being open and honest about where our limitations are and how they could be upgraded. remember, barnett, monroe, debusschere, lucas all came from a willingness to upgrade an already talented team to make it that much more talented.

It's not hype that DW is gonna hold his hand until Melo has either been traded or remains in Denver...there's nothing to be bored with regarding melo...it will happen 'WHEN' it happens. But i guess one man's patience is another man's boring

All of these trades IMHO leave the Knicks looking seriously unbalanced and worse off than our current lineup + big man + backup PG.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

2011 was the plan all along

"It's not hype that DW is gonna hold his hand until Melo has either been traded or remains in Denver"

Rookie - your passage is confusing. The "hype" speaks to the constant speculation over Melo since August. With regard to Donnnie Walsh "holding his hand" - does that mean NOT parting with ANY rotation players or starters? Or is Donnie "holding his hand" ie. not making a move?

So long as the Knicks are moving the ball effectively and talking on defense, Carmelo Anthony is simply a diversion in the same way Mitch Lawrence decides to dredge up Deron Williams rumors. Boring is trade rumors from un-named "sources" who heard Carmelo was caught wearing a Kninks t-shirt. Boring is reading into an intercepted text message.

Patience is waiting for The Mayor.

Patience is Danilo Gallinari at 26.

Patience is Landry Fields in his third NBA season.

Patience is the best available Lithuanian big man in the 2010 draft.

still not sure where we disagree....not sure where i believed the hype either...i think we are both saying the same thing differently...except that I wouldn't create a roster spot to sign a 10 day D-league center right now...because it would mean losing a potential asset for a Melo deal....or any other moves that we determine to make after Melo is settled

Remember when Louis Armstrong moved to New York from Chicago?

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Rookie - you are probably right. If the chatter about Eddy curry being bought out is confirmed, would you consider Donnie taking a flyer on 6'10 145 pound Eric Boateng an option?

Gentleman, quality basketball is back in New York City.

"Ronny and Raymond told me not to pass up any more shots before I even made one," Williams said. "I heard [Utah] say, you're not going to get anymore and I still got three more."
