Andrew thats why I would give them Timo and landry. 2 quality young guys with cheap contracts and upside and throw in future 1st and our 2 2nd rds this year. Give them respect and good players and picks. We keep our core and add to it.

i would be willing to offer more than that... u are gaining a half season of Melo on your team along w/the additional benefit of having the MLE, LLE & ability to use Wilson's Bird Rights to extend him by making the deal... that warrants us giving up more than just what we'd lose if we waited til free agency IMO... i'd easily offer up their choice of Gallo or Landry along w/AR & contract fillers, both our 2nd round picks & cash... if push comes to shove & we have to give them both Gallo & Landry but can hold onto Wilson, i would still do it... that's still a big upgrade in 2011 over what we have now:

C - MLE
PF - Amare
SF - Melo
SG - Wilson
PG - Felton
6 - Douglas
7 - Turiaf
8 - Williams (LLE)
9 - Walker
10 - Rautins
11 - Mozgov
12 - minimum salary

Who was it that proposed the realgm verified trade with Portland and Denver where we gave up just about the house but kept 1 wing to go with Felton-Melo-Amare-Camby? That would be a push your chips in, Isiah type of deal.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

i agree w/u bro... i love Gallo but he's still so inconsistent... i think Landry brings intangibles that the other 2 don't, so he's a valuable role player that can excel playing w/anyone... & Wilson is budding into a really good player, i would want to hold onto him over Gallo right now... i think Gallo has value & can excel if he becomes a featured player, but he won't become that here playing w/Amare, Felton & Wilson C.

Which is what I said many moons ago. Gallo needs to be developed as The Man. Guy has The Man personality, but he's too respectful, culturally indoctrinated, to enforce his will on the L. Like Yao, his upbringing, his early programming prevents him from applying his skillets, his skillset, to league-wide dominance.

Dirk had no such troubles, he was bred from Prussian War stock and taught, or urged, to dominate, whatever mass cultural effect predominates.

Gallo is the only starter I'd give. They can have him and any two other players + Curry and draft picks.

The thing is, he doesn't really have all the leverage. He can claim that NY is the only team he'll sign with. But they can just wait him out and test resolve when it becomes clearer his stance will cost him big money due to ne collective bargaining agreement.

In any event, they're playing like crap helps us.
