So we ended up going 5-8 through that stretch. Not great. Not season killing.

After Dallas we have a back to back against Philly. If we win both, that would solidify the 6 seed.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Most of us said if we kept our head above water (over .500) after January, then we're in good shape to make the playoffs. We did just that.

The only unacceptable losses were the home games against Sacramento and Phoenix, and to a lesser extent, the away game at Houston (although they're a better team than their record would indicate). But that's offset by the strong wins against San Antonio and Miami.

So really, the Knicks did what we had hoped they'd do over January, and now we just need to take care of business and beat on a lot of the scrubs the rest of the way. We still have multiple games against Philly, Milwaukee, Cleveland, NJ, Charlotte, etc.

Hard to say. Teams are beginning to figure us out.

Teams know we are soft inside.

How do you figure that?

right... so the focus should be what? Getting a volume shooting wing with suspect defense? Or getting (Walsh's words) an enforcer in the paint?

Seems to me you are aware of the team's needs after all

With a Melo/Gallo/STAT/Moz/Turiaf front line, I think we'd be fine.

There's not a superstar available either who will take us to the promise land.

Please name an available superstar who will elevate the Knicks to a championship team. Last I checked, there isn't one available.

Reggie Evans, Dalembert, Thompson... who knows? I'm not an NBA GM and have access to the same (limited) info you do, but there are several rugged bigs who are high quality rebounders either in expiring contracts or reasonable ones.

Teams are playing the perimeter and jamming Amar'e. Someone with a midrange game and who can slash would help tremendously. Melo is that.

I agree that a guy like Al Horford is ideal but that ain't happening. Maybe if the Knicks can get Bogut, but I don't suspect that happens either.

Amar'e is midrange. Everyone else lives on the perimeter. Just as long as the acquisition's attack isn't from deep it will help a great deal.

I suppose you think Carmelo Anthony is not a superstar? Hate to break it to you but this summer FA's arent all that hot except for Carmelo.

I said a superstar that will elevate us into being a championship, because we'd be paying so much and giving up so much, that we'd have almost no other way of improving the team after that. I don't see Carmello being a guy who can make us a championship team. Sure, he may be a superstar... but there's a heck of a lot of superstars in the history of the league that never won a ring.

If your wings are Gallo/Melo/STAT then Moz can have stone hands all he wants, he just has to defend and not turn the ball over.

We can win 70% the rest of the season if Mozgov comes correct.
WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.
