He even said that he thought his Magic players had slowed down too much and he wanted them to run more. He's basically doing just about everything we do and his team shoots as many 3's as we do. I think the level of effectiveness is very similar between both coaches. Stan has a better roster. When we finally upgrade our roster then we'll see who you'd actually prefer as coach. Something tells me that if we added Melo and a started beating teams you wouldn't have a negative thing to say about Mike.

If we had enough good players, then no one would be talking about trying to get Melo. So who cares about the guys on the bench he doesn't play when it's likely those guys aren't the difference between us being Elite or 2nd Tier? Let's just see what Donnie can do to finish off this Roster.

I think most coaches with a dominant post player want shooters and D'Antoni isn't the first coach to run. Both coaches have won but Van Gundy trumps D'Antoni. Van Gundy has taken a team to the finals. Van Gundy has also overcome some adversity with the Heat situation and Riley. I don't think Van Gundy or D'Antoni are doing anything that hasn't been done before. I think one guy is more willing to work with his entire team and has a defensive focus and that is why he has been more successful achieving team goals.

There is a unique aspect to how Mike "runs", which isn't even an accurate description of his system. That's why there was so much made of it and a book written about it, and other coaches wanting to learn more about it. Don't try to diminish what he's accomplished.

SVG got to the finals in a weaker conference I don't dismiss it but let's be fare cuz when Mike was winning 62 games and getting beat in WCF's he was going against the best comp in the league every year. I think Mike will be able to win just as much as SVG given the necessary tools to do so. I'm really hoping Donnie can make something happen so we can really see a fully fare fight.

Maybe Phil Jackson, Greg Popvich, or Don Nelson should write a book.

Let's not act like D'Antoni is some offensive genius.
