I thought KG beyond stats was an MVP type candidate this year.

Actually I thought the complete opposite. This is why when you have a good team that's reliant on one star, you get him a second star.

Unless we get a big who is capable of scoring 20 points beyond amare--no player could help the team win. What teams wins with no big man? An additional quality big man should be the number 1 priority beyond making the bench better.

That and a couple unicorns and we're set.

20 point bigs grow on trees and I'm guessing they won't require us to trade anybody on our team.

Still trying to figure out this talking point.

If we get a big that can score 20 points and keep our team in tact?

I'd rather say, if we can get melo and keep our team intact.

Do the heat have this magical 20 point big?

Chris Bosh?

He's taken. I'm awaiting a big we can actually obtain. I guess I'm thinking you guys are proposing reality. My bad.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

What did he say about Charlie Villanueva?

He called him a cancer patient.

Oh man. Kg is a garbage human being, man.

He said he was a cancer to his team

To be more accurate, it's Dwyane Wade and HIS superfriends. It's still Wade's squad.

Or perhaps a worst case would be cartilage damage (maybe he's joined the Brandon Roy - formerly Tim Hardaway - school of bone on bone). His knee didn't seem to wobble side to side - so prolly not an ACL/MCL sprain.

They're saying it's lower leg or calf now.

Who cares about KG.

He is a piece of garbage and a chump in big games. He has a championship because of Paul Pierce and PJ Brown who hit the big shot when Garnett folded.

Fake tough guy that backs down from the fight everytime. I'm sick out watching the guy yelling and cursing every play. To bad no one knocked his teeth out by now.

The Celts had the 80's and they had there championships. They managed to get West and Shaq for nothing they can deal.

The guy is one of the hardest working players in the league, never takes a night off, he's a high energy emotional guy on the court. Spree was the same way, and if KG played in NY people would say he embraced the NY culture.

Thats why NYKrs are connecting to Amare, not only his game but his rugged swagger on the court, that dude pays for nothing in NY...trust me.

If you never got to know spree, you would say the same thing, especially after choking a coach.

I dunno about 20 ppg. I'll take 10 rebounds and no more:

Bargnani 41 against the Knicks
Kevin Love 33

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

i think that's a lot more reasonable... a role playing big that can grab 10 rebounds a night & defend the position... u can target guys like Marcus Camby, Reggie Evans, Emeka Okafor, Sammy Dalembert perhaps... i think those are all reasonably realistic targets.

I think the thing with KG is he adopts a persona on the court under the belief it will give him an edge- I think all that a**hole talk and fake tough guy stuff is just a mind set he adopts to try and out-psyche and intimidate the opposition ( probably why he always backs off when push comes to shove). I think off the court and away from basketball he's probably a pretty nice guy- and in fact a few posters on another site have said he's a class act and was good to them. I guess thats why it seems like he's gone from a classy player in Minnesota to an a**hole in Boston- he's just adopted a meaner act- sometimes he goes overboard with it.

And to be honest, thats something the Knicks used to do back in the Riley days, and we all loved them for it, so I never get too down on Boston. I kind of miss that in most players these days- it's all too nice and polite sometimes.

if i were donnie, i'd try my best to swing a trade for Javale McGee.... this dude can become the 20 pt scorer we need next to amare in big mins.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

I'd rather throw my hopes at Randolph.

Injury is to the muscle of the right calf, not the knee. He's expected to miss at most 2 weeks.

How much time does KG have left? He's been in the league, what, nearly 16 years now?

http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/sidebar/update123010-kevin-garnett-injury.html

When Kevin Garnett exited the court Wednesday night in the Palace of Auburn Hills, it was human nature to assume the worst. Luckily for he and the Celtics, the worst has been avoided.

All preliminary tests, including X-rays, came back negative Wednesday night in Detroit, but the most critical information was obtained Thursday afternoon in Boston via an MRI exam on Garnett's knee.

Danny Ainge announced around 4:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon on WEEI that Garnett's MRI also came back negative and that his injury has been deemed a strain.

"Kevin had an MRI and a thorough examination (on Thursday) and it's the same as last night," said Ainge. "It's just a muscle – I say just – but it's a muscle injury, a strained calf. It's actually the muscle just off the side of the leg, just below the knee, and it's not anything to do with his knee, which is great news."

While that news is positive for the C's, the team will still be faced with the difficult task of playing numerous games without the rock of their defense, which ranks first in the league in defensive efficiency.

"It's one of those injuries that, you know, he may be out for a couple of weeks, at the most, I would say," Ainge remarked.

"That's my guess. You know it's always a guess when you're trying to see when guys come back, but I'll just say two weeks, and I think that's on a very conservative side."

If Garnett does miss the full two weeks, which Ainge hinted might be unlikely, that would put his return date at Jan. 12, when the Celtics host the Sacramento Kings in the TD Garden. Six of Boston's next seven games, including that tilt with the Kings, will be played at home, so one way or another KG's return will likely take place in the Garden.
