No one knows if Rubio can't shoot with us, people thought AR would slam dunk for 20 points per game when he came here, but he didn't. People thought Roger Junior would drop trey buckets all over, and people thought David Lee could never develop a dope fresh J. But, alas, it's all for naught.

Rubio, once he comes here and he's asked to drop daggers, dish the rock on the gun, swish the buckets, he can do all this, the kid is a young Pistol Pete, he has a Jason Kidd-like feel for the flow of the game and Jason Kidd drops trey buckets so good now, so?

Would be interesting to ask MDA how a talented pass 1st but poor shooting PG (i.e. Kidd in his prime, Rajon Rondo, Andre Miller even a backup type like Ramon Sessions) would do in his system?

Why not? Mike D don't what him. So let the kid go.

Because Telfair is no good. We're not trying to clear cap space, like the Heat were this summer. There's no reason to do Kahn any favors and just give AR away. Telfair sucks and we'll take him of the wolves hands. That should be the end of any conversation we have with the timber puppies.

Papabear, you don't trade Telfair for AR because AR can get you a first and then some. We did not trade David Lee for access to Telfair.

Orange - Do you know why you haven't heard a lot about Rubio? Because outside of making great passes and turning the ball over a ton, he can't shoot. His plan is not to be a bad shooter for years in order to get his rights traded to the Knicks. I was the biggest Rubio fan, really, but the guy doesn't fit this team well. That said, he would be good to come off the bench. He would have some value as a trade asset.

earthmansurfer, sir, I kindly point you to his statistics, which you will find here, at the internet web page you can surf on: http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=LFW

On this internet surf page you will find that he drops buckets at a good percentage, not super good but not bad at all. Much better percentage than many point guards even in the NBA league.

kahn is doing the knicks a favor by asking for ar who present trade value is telflair. how do you not make that trade when mda is clearly not going to use ar. now all of a sudden ar is a more valuable piece for the knicks? in what way?? a seat warmer.. cause that is all he is doing.

i would rather see ar get minutes but that is not happening might as well fill a need for a backup pg when it presents itself. and yes i full expect to see ar highlights when he is wearing another team jersey. it is what it is. mda wont play him its time for donnie to trade him.

Orangeblobsir, I kindly would like to point out to you that shooting a decent percentage (45%) does not mean you can shoot jump shots. I have to admit though, that I am shocked he has taken more 3pters than 2pters! He is now shooting 3's at 37% (not bad imo). Maybe he is changing things around but I would still like to see his jump shooting stats, which last I heard were really really bad. His scoring went down from 10 last year to 6.5 this year. That is really really low. Basically he takes 3 3's a game and hits one. He is only taking like 6 shots a game.

I am open to the guy now that I look at his better shooting % and as I said, I really liked the guy last year.

I'm DW and they are talking AR and change I'm looking at Love or Flynn or Ridnour

Excellent.

This is what Pepe Sanchez had to say about Ricky Rubio:

I think he's a freak of nature, being so young and being so skilled and also so cool all the time. You can see that he knows what he's doing. He's not playing out there with pros based only on his talents. He knows the game and he can only improve. I think he'll be a great player. It all depends on him, but I personally think he's going to be great.

this thread took a huh-wuh turn. rubio is not being offered, and ny has no hands to make demands for rubio because ar has no trade value. this is a take what you can get offer on the table by minny.

AR has good trade value. You don't sell him short. Minimum you get a 1st round pick for him.

salaries don't match up... gotta add another $2M as filler.

Roger Mason Jr. & Bill Walker for Telfair, Paulao Prestes & MIN's 2nd round pick would work for me

Im pretty sure Minnesota is under the cap. So we could send them Anthony Randolph in a bigger deal to acquire Melo and dump some salary on them.

only problem w/that idea is Kahn doesn't seem too eager to help out the Knicks... plus we don't really have any salary we need to dump for next year

He's a young Pistol Pete, are you serious? The guy can dish the rock and run and gun.

Sorry Blob, you've been mesmerized by Youtube. Rubio is a turnover prone, non shooting PG. He may evolve into a slow footed Rondo, but he is surely no savior. Please stop using The Pistol's name in vain
