You gotta be kiiding me with this idea..

I'm glad walsh said he isn't inclind to make a trade unless it make us significantly better. He won't do a lateral IT trade (TT for KVH) just for the sake of making a trade..

how does getting a back up PG not make us better? now i'm lost. I would think that it is a priority by the deadline before Felton is burnt out....or worse, injured

oh for sure. I am thinking with a little polish he would be nice next to Amare.

sad face knicks blogs are reporting that sebastian telfair to ny trade rumors were agent driven and not donnie driven.

He's not much better then any back up we have, If andy or roger were force to play 20 minutes, they can put up numbers similar to him..At this point were trying to get ahead, we have a healthy Felton and suitable back ups..

I'm not worried about felton burning out, don't compare him to Duhon (as far as burnout), he's 10x better, stronger, smarter, and quicker..

telfair is a true PG. he is a creative passer and with his ability to drive and kick...he would be a good fit IMHO. I would be curious to see what he could do under Felton/MDA. I'm not worried about his bad boy rep with Amare and Felton...the kid could actually live up to the hype...and if not, it's bye bye at the end of the season....kid still has upside and maybe could be had cheap

well, atleast it's a start...if his agent wants to get him moved, maybe it will lead to something

Rookie wrote:agreed with dat! but telfair does have the potential of upside...i would not give up even 1 rotation player for him though. i would however like to see what he could do under mda given 10-15 minutes regularly...just not sure what kind of deal would work...numbers don't match up...but i guess you could do cash? something like walker, mason or rautins and cash? if we send two players for one...someone would have to be cut...azubuike makes more then telfair, so that wouldn't work either....not sure how a deal works here is all i'm asking

....and if you enlarge the deal...could we get a 1st round pick which could likely be a lottery pick cuz nothing we are giving is gonna make them better this year...something like telfair and a 1st rounder for.(what?)

if we could get a 1st rounder included then it's definitely something i'd consider... of course, it all depends on the asking price as well... i'd probably go AR & a filler contract like Mason Jr. for Telfair & a 1st rounder if they'd do it... u think that's too much?

it could be a top 5 pick and it doesn't look like AR is going to play here...not to mention it would get us a b/u pg and a chip in the melo sweepstakes

Unfortunately, and as a few posters correctly determined, D'Antoni recently re-stated that he'll only play 8 players (at the start of the season he seemed willing to go up to 10), so getting cheap players of the calibre mentioned on this thread is pointless, as if they're not better than TD it's very unlikely they'll get any playing time. I'd rather the rotation was at 9 or occasionally 10 players, just to give our main guys some rest, allow Mosgov or AR chance to slowly develop, and so we have backup players ready to step up in the event of injuries, but alas it seems the only bench players at this point will be TD, Turiaf and Williams, and there's no point in getting players that aren't as good as them as they just won't get any playing time.

it's hard to watch our 2nd team at best...hold the game...but more then likely let a lead slip. while douglas is a defensive animal...he's better on the floor w/Felton..or another PG. He just isn't a PG and you can actually see when he has determined to shoot regardless and will not pass the ball.

I agree completely- I think maybe TD picked up a lot of bad habits from Nate. I like his work ethic and toughness, but I've been really disappointed with his PG abilities, and I guess Amar'e is too from the sounds of it (he was overheard in the locker room wondering how TD ended the game with no assists).

a top 5 lottery pick is a no brainer but i don't see them trading for AR w/o lottery protection at the very least... anyway i doubt Telfair is on DW's radar... i think the Knicks would do anything to steer clear from any more Marbury related drama

good point...but i won't be surprised to see this bouncing around the rumor mills for awhile...doesn't look like it has any legs other then telfair's agent is expressing interest in a move to the knicks

I think Telfair has plantar faciitis and is out. I also would be very hesitant to do a deal with Kahn. Mason might blow up in Minny, become a starter and lead the league in a category or two.
