that's probably why they made the move to acquire Arenas... he is a proven scorer, albeit a knuckleheaded one... i'm sure if ORL had a chance to acquire a star scorer they'd go for it.

i agree whole-heartedly with you, but the fact of the matter is that this team is still in build-mode. i wouldn't make any rash decisions with your cap-space for THIS year just yet.

i know you know this, i'm just sayin..

i think now is the time to make moves to go for it... we have our franchise guy, we need to now focus on putting the pieces around him that he needs so we can win a championship... no more waiting around for guys to develop & saving cap space for the free agency of 2012... we have Amare signed for 5 years, but who knows how many of those years he's going to be performing at the level he has this season? my biggest fear is that he starts to break down because of the minutes load & the burden of having to carry this team... it would be a travesty if we didn't at least make the moves necessary to bring in another guy to share the load before that ever happens... if it's not Melo, then we need to focus on someone else that can.

i'm not advocating we make stupid decisions like gutting our entire roster for any 1 player, but we can't be afraid to part with some of our talent to go after guys either... right now our team is not good enough to win a championship... i don't see adding a role playing C & a backup PG as the missing pieces to the championship puzzle for this team... we need to add at least another major piece before we can even start to have that discussion IMO.

We might be, but if he does go out, or get ejected, I see that as an opportunity for AR and/or Mozgov to finally strut their stuff, and regain much needed confidence.

We're more ****ed if Felton goes down honestly.

i wouldn't bet any money on that happening... more likely MDA would go w/Turiaf & Wilson as the starting frontcourt & Shawne Williams' minutes would increase based on his rotation patterns this season... giving more minutes to AR & Mozgov would not inspire any confidence in me at this point either... we need another star... i don't see any other way around it.
