Pretty fair trade, but there's a lot of guys that can do what Jason does. Shawne has been a money spot up shooter.

We are already starving for some height, and you trade big for small, especially for a 3rd string wash up vet..give me one good thing J will is doing in Orl...

....

You think Shawne Williams is the answer at big man? Because he isn't.

We have big men who D'Antoni refuses to play.

he's not the answer, but he sure as hell ain't the problem

Stay away from piles of Dudu. I don't really see big opportunities for us to trade here.

Antonio Daniels or Rafter Alston can be the 12 minute per night backup PG we need. I think finding a backup there isn't that difficult. Cut Mason, sign Daniels....you're good to go.

Jason Williams is done. Shawne Williams role can/might increase if we swing the Gallo & Chandler trade for Melo. I'd rather hold on to him.

sign me out, are you on drugs dude

lol yea i dont see an 11 year vet as any help.

jameer nelson from the magic would be cool to trade for, i wonder if donnie could steal him for td/azu.

if not plan-b timberwolves sebastian telfair has an easy expiring contract to trade for.

Except Telfair is a bum. I doubt he can run this offense any better than Toney.

telfair has court vision. toney has tunnel vision.

telflair's contract is an expiring worth a little over a mil, so a trade could be made without effecting any future ny moves.

Telfair has court vision? Maybe we're watching different games.

Now for someone with real court vision - Marcus Williams. He was released and I have no idea where he is, but if we're looking for reclamation projects, I'd take a look at him.

Rose is not the answer.

I'm not looking for a reclamation project right now. We have developmental backup PG candidates in Douglas and Rautins. What I want is a veteran who can pick up the offense right away and give us 12-15 mins a night.

Gortat's kind of expensive, but if we could lose Turiaf and Randolph's salaries in the trade, we'd be ok. Gortat could help us.

There's a difference between our PG depth problem and our PF/C depth problem... we don't actually have a backup point guard. Rautins is still a project and TD is just not a PG. We do have PF/C's, but they just don't get any burn.

I wouldn't want to invest much in a front court trade unless we know the guy is going to get more burn than 10 min per game.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I think Channing Frye should be a strong candidate for the knicks to look into.

Dude could be a starting center for us - shoot from 3pt range and help with rebounding and interior D.

They aren't giving up gortat. That kid can really play I would love to get him here as a backup. For the midlevel he is a bargin. Tyson Chandler isn't a better player. The kid will flourish next to Amare and is a good defensive player who can commit a hard fould and provide rest for amare when we go small

When has Frye ever played interior D?

Look, were never going to be a great defensive team under MDA, even if we had 10 oakley's. Under MDA, you expect to make key stops, and be perfect on offense..notice everytime Tina talks to amare after the game (especially during the win streak) the 1st thing he mentions is how well the offensive is, how guy's are spreading the floor, and him and felts chemistry is improving. Very rearly does he mention anything associated with how well the team is defending, cuase there not. A steal there and block here, thats it.

Fry and melo makes our offense even more potent, which is what MDA wants

completely disagree. It seems like to me that every time I hear Amare or MDA talk it's about improving their defense.

What is with all of the "were never going to be a great defensive team under MDA" talk. It just doesn't all up.

It's true that his forte is as a offensive genius on one side of the court. But that doesn't team he won't pay attention to the other.

Frye would not be a bad addition. He can shoot 3's and he has length but the problem is he is not much of a defensive presence or rebounder, which is kind of what NY needs. Having him on the roster instead of Mason, Curry, Rautins, Walker is a good idea.

anyone notice tina looking hella ugly lately? anyho the (annoying) cav announcer during the most embarrassing lose in mankind's recorded history said at game tipoff cleveland is going to like to play the knicks cause they play no d. do the knicks play d? yes but at times the knicks version of d looks like no d at all. ny should mix it up with zone defense.
