good point. Nelson, Duhon, Williams, Arenas. Something gotta give at the PG position.
Maybe this increases the chances of us getting Jason Williams, who'll do as a back up PG for this year (considering DW won't take on salary until he knows whats happening with Melo). Yeah, I still can't believe Orlando gave Duhon such a long term deal after his last year with us.
My take on these trades is that it's a big big gamble by the Magic as they have no exit strategy- Turkoglu and Arenas are untradable and are large, long term contracts- if Orlando struggles after this then they will also lose Dwight when his contract is up as he'll know they can't improve the team or sign anyone whilst they've got those salaries on the team. This has to work out for them, and I'm not sure if it will- both Arenas and Turkoglu look on the decline to me.
On the plus, I don't like Lewis at all and he has been on a rapid decline- same with Carter- I don't think they'll miss those two at all. I'm also pleased for Arenas and the Wizards- they both needed to part ways, and I hope Arenas can maybe turn his career around and actually enjoy playing basketball again and can move on from the gun thing- he's not really a bad guy. Wizards as a franchise had to get rid of him, just so they can start a new chapter. Also maybe Orlando's chemistry improbves- Pietrus and Gortat were both complaining for over a season about a lack of playing time. I also read Carter clashed with Dwight.
Suns made so many mistakes in the offseason- I'm not sure what their strategy is, at all, but you never know it might work out for them.
I'm interested to see how the Magic do after this trade, but it is a huge gamble that they are stuck with if it doesn't work out. Now can the Magic please give us Jason Williams as a temporary stop gap
