9-12 is my choice too. Am I cynical to think that is a best case?

me too. OKC has given us problems in the past - hopefully we start to match up better with these teams.

But Boston, Miami 3x and San Antonio who have been tearing up the league 2x - those are 6 games that are very difficult.

I am happy now. Although I did already say that in this thread so your math correction was not needed.

We are all so jaded and with good reason, but when MDA has had his kind of players he's done some impressive things. The knock on his system is they couldnt get 4 wins against a big team like the Spurs or Laker, but in terms of regular season its not a stretch to say MDA is one of the best coaches in the league.

Remember the Suns won 50+ games when Amare went down w/ the knee. They started Marion at the 4 and Boris Diaw at center. The fact that they won 50 something games in the West is really impressive. Doing it after losing Amare to an injury and then going all the way to the WCFs is tremendous.

Here's a question. Is that Suns team much better than this Knicks team?

http://www.basketballreference.com/teams/teamyear.htm?tm=PHO&lg=n&yr=2005

Their starting Nash, Raja Bell, James Jones, Marion and Diaw. Eddie House, Barbosa and Kurt Thomas were the main bench guys.

If that team can win 54 and go to the Western finals why the hell cant this one?

Felton, Fields, Gallo, Chandler, Amare with Turiaf, Douglas and please god someone else break into the rotation coming off the bench.

Is 55 games such a stretch? Its happened before! 5 years ago!

9-12

We probably won't lose to all the good teams but i'm pretty sure alot of wins here aren't definite either.

I think if we get 11 wins or more in this stretch we can challenge Atlanta for the 5th spot. Less than 8 would be a huge disappointment.

If we keep playing like we have been and Gallo has his master stroke, we go 14-7. Matchup probs for all of these teams with the Knicks. We NEED Moz to catch fire on the boards and not turn the rock over. We need minutes from Turiaf without injury. And if AR gets it going, anything's possible.

12-9 but would not surprise me if 2 games higher or lower. In any event we'll be in better shape most of us realistically forecast at beginning of season.

From anyone else i'd say they were optimistic but from u=u must have said it it at the end of a bj. How can u predict us winning when you don't seem to think anything of the coach, management or the players?????

So I guess my prediction is 11-10. I think the toughest stretch will be the games post-Christmas (day game vs. Chicago on xmas day, @Miami, @Orlando), and then the Texas road trip in mid-January. I see losing streaks there that may get some fans to panic.
