There are few players to put as a franchise player these days that is going to elevate a team.
When watchiung the Suns for years did most of us not marvel at Amare's dunks and the excitement of him and nash would create? Were we not exicted when MDA came here to bring that? ANd finally it did.
I for one would not pay to just see Lopez and Melo lose games. I would assume Nets are likley giving away a lottery pick, along with Favors and one of the lower picks with cap fodder Troy Murph?
Thats way to high a price. Melo is a very very good basketball player. IM sure Brooklyn would be stoked to see an NBA franchise but one that is building somthing special. Melo is not THAT special.
Better they build a winning team than a face of franchise starphuch.
IN fact, I think Avery Johnson is not the man I want building. I'd want him on a more mature team.
The "Melo from Brooklyn" thing is crap. He was a young boy when they moved.
Im from Brooklyn and I assure you only a waterview townhouse would draw my ass back there! I love being FROM there and my memories growing up were great but we all move on. Im sure Brooklyn is great, not hating. IM just very happy were I am now.
Melo and Nuggs are going to stare each other down. Whats good for the franchise is he extends and gets traded in a bidding war. Whats good for melo is he goes to a team that is not depleted by the trade. Whats good for his bank account is he gets extended.
Nalod would think there is a 33% chance he comes to knicks. Nalod don't know a thing about his stance on the money and what he is willing to do or not.
Whats it going to be?
5 generations of wealth or 7? Cajun "Shug" Avery with that voice or Italian Pringles orchestrating the point-O-Rama offense for about what superfriends are making in Miami?
Newark for season and two thirds or Broadway? Westchester estate or Jersey Shore? Wanna live like a Rockerfeller or a Soprano?
