i don't get that reasoning at all... if he accepts a trade to NJ he'll in effect be getting his wish of being close to NY, being close to where his wife works & having the chance to win... add him to that NJ roster & they are legitimate contenders in the EC... if he was only in it for the $ then he would have signed that extension already.
Are you kidding me? Nets contenders with Melo. LOL.
i don't know what's so funny about that... Melo took a 17 win Denver team to the playoffs his rookie season.
they also got Camby and Nene back from injury that same season. that might've helped a bit, too.
so u think the Nuggets go anywhere the past 7 years w/o Melo on that team?
to be fair, they didn't really go anywhere with him on the team. they made it out of the first round one time.
i think melo is a good fit here... but i'm unsure about giving up the farm for him.
dude, making the playoffs every year since he was drafted is a whole helluva lot better than 17 wins... all that w/o a stud frontcourt player like Amare playing alongside him no less... 4 of those years his team got eliminated by the Spurs or Lakers too, so it's not like they lost to scrub teams either.
we just went from being a 29 win team to now a viable contender for the playoffs for the first time in like forever & people are doing cartwheels around here, but don't think it's worth it to go after a guy like Carmelo Anthony who's taken his teams to the playoffs in a tougher conference every year... it boggles my mind.
& again, who says we have to give up the farm for him? do u really think DW is gonna do that? i don't.
