With The Mayor, Stats Don't Lie:

Season PER TS% eFG% G MP FGA 3PA FTA PTS 3P% FT%
2008 11.7 0.480 0.457 35 685 12.7 1.6 2.8 13.4 0.300 0.630
2009 12.9 0.515 0.481 82 2735 13.9 4.1 2.8 15.6 0.328 0.795
2010 13.7 0.534 0.502 65 2320 13.3 2.3 2.5 15.4 0.267 0.806
2011 18.0 0.562 0.523 22 717 15.2 5.3 3.5 18.8 0.349 0.829

Amear playing with Felton makes Felton better or The Mayor better?

Gallo makes Toney Douglas better. Even when he leaves the game in foul trouble.

Landry Fields makes everyone feel better.

"Amare makes Felton better because he get him assists."

Felton makes Amare better because he makes his jump shot and goes to dinner with him

Amare makes Chandler better by drawing the double teams.

The Mayor makes Amare better because every MVP needs a wingman who can soar over traffic

Gallo makes Al Harrington look like an afterthought

In the rear view mirror, Al Harrington makes Stephon Marbury and Chris Duhon appear smaller than they are appear

Fields makes Donnie Walsh look much better

Donnie Walsh makes signing Amare look like a stroke of genius

That, my friends, is teamwork

exactly, chandler and gallo make life for amare easy, and visa versa..that was clearly evident yesterday..they lock down the paint in the first half, and lock down the perimeter and left amare one on one in the 2nd half.

How do they make life easy when Amare has to average 40+ minutes for us to win games?

So Mo Williams made life easy for Lebron I assume too.

Love Chandler, don't want him traded and think the Amare, Gallo, Chandler front court gives us flexibility and versatility that allows us to compete with anyone. The problem is that against the better teams and in the playoffs when the play is more physical and you are playing one team for 4-7 games we are going to get worn down in the interior with this line-up if we don't get a beast via trade(or one of our guys develop. You are seeing some of the symptoms of future problems even during this winning streak. Here are a few issues

1.) Our PF and Center average 17 rebounds per game with Wilson starting. To keep in context Kevin Love almost averages that by himself. Turiaf is also not a big rebounder off the bench, neither is Mozgov. during the playoffs this is not going to fly.

2.) Teams in the playoffs are going to do what Minny did and what Denver did. They are going to pound Amare and Wilson inside with a bigger stronger player. NOw I agree that they have to guard us as well, but the pounding our guys are going to take can really be draining in a playoff scenario. Teams like the Celtics can throw 4 or 5 quality physical big guys at us. This has the potential to really wear us out

3.) For the season Amare averages 3.84 fouls per game. With Wilson in the starting line-up he averages 4.13 fouls per game. For the season Gallo averages 2.3 fouls per game and 3.0 with Wilson in the starting line-up. This is no coincedence. The good teams during the playoffs are going to exploit this even more.

It's obvious to all that we need another big guy. This guy has to be a productive defender and rebounder to take the pressure off of Wilson and Amare. I think if we are going to take a true move to the next level eventually we are going to have to move Gallo or Wilson to the bench(no this is not a competition between the two and not a demotion. It's about team. Best fit goes to the bench) or move them via trade. Otherwise I see us destined to be a team that looks good in the regular season but can't hang with the big boys in the playoffs.

bippity - simple, play Mozgov until he gets over his jet lag

The Mayor is having a breakout season.

The Celtics are old. As he shadowed Melo, Gallo can also cover Garnett.

The Knicks have something unpredictable and fun to watch.

The Knicks have yoots.

I want the Knicks to target Kendrick Perkins in the offseason, and hope the heck guys like AR/Moz step up.

I agree Bip, and it was the same deal in Phoenix. Amar'e started at center and he struggled against the bigger skilled centers. He'll come up with big defensive plays, but he is going to need help. If he doesn't get it (And I'm not talking about Melo) then we're going to struggle in the playoffs with or without Melo.

Help in the frontcourt >>>>>>>> Melo.

Wilson Chandler Expands His Range

"The structure of a quality basketball team demands symbiosis. It’s not good enough to put together a collection of talent with a mutual interest in winning; instead, the most effective squads are assembled in a way that allows each component to benefit from being a part of the comprehensive whole. It’s from that truism that Chandler’s efficient campaign was born. He’s a productive player when left to his own devices, but Chandler has transformed into a steady hub of efficient scoring by attacking defenses oriented to stop Stoudemire and Felton.

Chandler isn’t a radically different player than he was a year ago, but by spending some quality time with his jumper and subtly altering his playing style, he has been able to increase his shot efficiency while reducing his turnovers."
