What killed me is that we kept our best young players and replaced Lee with Amar'e. Duhon with Felton and we added some size. If that team last year could eek out 29 wins, surely this team could do much better. How were the Nets supposed to leap frog us given that info. What exactly did the Nets do aside from hire Avery?
Assessment from many of my unbiased friends
1.) Amare is no better then David Lee. No matter how many times I said that I watched every Knick game and tried to get across that David was not a star and our 3rd or 4th option in crunch time and that Amare was a beast, I was an idiot
2.) They preached about the great Net youth. When I asked who was great they said Brook Lopez, Terrence Williams, poor passing always injured PG boy, hasn't done anything draft boy. When I said what about Chandler, Gallinari, Douglas, Randolph, Mozgov and Landry Fields(this was after I saw him in summer league), they would just raise their voices and laugh and say "who? who?" loud enough to drown me out
3.) Amare was only good because of Nash
4.) Felton is a below average PG who will be boo'd out of NY.
5.) When I pointed out that the Nets won 12 games and added role players, while we won 29, subtracted garbage and added a superstar and all the other guys, they said....You should have kept Lee.
6.) The Knicks sucka nd would win 25 games
In all seriousness Bip is not one for I told you so's. Really I'm not. But I was so wounded by the attacks I got from everyone I knew that I am relentless now. I tried to convince them that I have watched more NBa basketball last year then they have the last 10 and that I know far more then they did. They called me a homer. I have not forgotten this and am currently torturing each and every one of them. I have been so relentless that I have recieved at least 3 apologies. 3 more to go!!!
